I get so hot in my compression shorts + shorts combo. Should I be wearing a jock to the gym? If so, what kind?

Underarmour makes decent underwear that aren't as tight and thick as true compression shorts, but the pairs I have are starting to fall apart after barely a year. I think Underarmour still makes jockstraps, too.

Bike has different kinds of jock-straps and so does McDavid. I have a few and all seem to hold my junk in place, and I workout just fine. I need the support because of low-hangers, so if you got a pair, then go with a jock, if not a good support brief might be your answer!

    Good Luck!

Get a pair of running shorts. They have built-in liners that are made of breathable synthetic material.

I like the Bike Performance Elite Jock Strap (with a soft synthetic moisture-wicking fabric).

If you don't like the look of a traditional jockstrap, or the straps on your legs, I like the Under Armour BoxerJock. It's cut like a boxer-brief, but is cool and wicks moister.

Damned God. I would have thrown in with the Devil and bargained for a better deal, but he won't talk to me because he thinks I'm gunning for his job.

A jock isn't going to help your breathability if you're wearing compression shorts in the gym. Why are you wearing compression shorts in the gym in the first place.

Try just wearing normal shorts first and seeing if that helps you out.

I use the under armor boxer jocks for tennis and any activity that might lead to uncomfortable jostling. They breathe much better than compression shorts and do the job very well. Definitely worth a try, if you haven't yet.

Sometimes I think the whole jock strap is such a fraud... i mean its hot, but there's nothing a decent pair of good undies wont do that a jockstrap will.... except look extra hot on the backside.....

Ahh finally an honest answer. We working out here, or playing football?

There's in idot (there I said it) at my gym who wears a jock. And no, Im not checking him out.. he's gross. But when I see him in the lockroom, I have all I can do to keep myself from laughing.

    Jock in a gym? Really?

If your that big.. and hot, give a guy a cheap thrill. I love being able to see it hang in a nice pair of gym shorts.. just sayin :-)

Ok i just have to ask this question...when you wear jocks, aren't you afraid of leaving skid marks on your workout shorts?

I find plain briefs to do the trick, but that's just on me. Every body is different.

I only wear a jock when palyting sports, like baseball/softball, football, and volleyball.
