Well he was a Republican and very progressive. Trust busting, the ICC, and lots of things our present President wouldn't dream of trying he took on, and one. He looked really fetching in a straw boater, and he weighed over 300 lbs.

I was referring to the decisions he made early on in his presidency that lost the progressive vote (like the Payne-Aldrich Tariff).

I think he was the first president to have a bath tub in the White House.
I have no idea how he was able to get himself out of it (the bath tub). LOL. He was huge.

BTW, Republicans of yesteryear bear no resemblance what so ever to the lunatics that have taken over the party in the past 30 years.

    you're close.

the bath tub was there, but he got stuck in it and they had to put a bigger one in so he could bathe.

Get in a Raft with Taft.

He called himself a progressive, but he was much more beholden to the old school influences on government than his predecessor Teddy Roosevelt. In fact TR was so disapointed in Taft that he ran against him in the 1912 election. They split the Republican vote, and Wilson became president.
