Are your closest friends other guys or women?

I dated a guy last year for a while, and came to learn that all his closest friends were female, and that he never really had any close male friends, just acquaintances. He's not particularly feminine or anything like that (altho he did get off on "Project Runway"). And he's absolutely not bi-sexual.

As for me, all my friends and close friends have only been guys. I never had any close female friends. (BTW, "Project Runway" bored me to tears.)

Before teenage years a lot of my friends were mixxed, half girls, half boys with varying ages. As I got older it transitioned after I moved and lost contact with em all. Went through a loner stage for two years then gadually most of my friends became female, Id on't know why. I can't seem to get along with catty gay men and I can't seem to talk to a lot of straight guys, maybe it's become a complex where every word out of my mouth brings a storm into my head filled with second guessing about what I sayed. Suppose I'm not always good at conversations, hate silences so i try to say something stupid to get it moving which just makes it worse ;p

    I'm a man's man...

Usually girls are drawn to me, but I do not subscribe to the fag hag mentality of life. And I am not some personal stylist for some girl to go shopping with and talk about girly things with. I generally have very different interests from girls; don't know anything about fashion, make up hair etc. I just have taste and its my personal thing - very me and very male.

My bf tends to gravitate towards the girls more. That siad, I have a few core grils who I would do anything for. They tend to have the same driven, non-nonsense view on life, a wicked sense of humor and a sensibility that most girls do not posess.

I'd say my group of friends is about 60/40 more guys. My BEST frined is a guy who I count more like a brother then anything and his GF is my BEST female friend lol. They have been there for me through alot and I would die/kill to protect them.

Most of my close friends have been women... in fact all my best friends are ladies. I guess I never really felt comfortable trying to act like "one of the guys" with the other guys I hung out with. I have some guy friends, who are close, just not like my girls!

Men, mostly, though I have several close women friends. But they're tough gals, and act more like the typical guy than the typical gal (and no, they're not all lesbians, though some are).

All of my best friends are guys, and all are straight. I don't have any good female friends, don't know why I just don't. I get along better with guys.

Project Runway? Man, thats got to hurt!

For the most part I hang out with both sexes. The thing with the people I normally hang out with though is that they're neither really masculine or feminine. So gender wise my friends are kinda androgynous I guess.

Female friends and Gay Male friends. Don’t really hang out with straight guys. They really tend to get on my nerves, when every other word is B*&$% when they are referring to women! UGH!icon_rolleyes.gif

hmmm... interesting question. i have a lot of both, which is nice. but what i notice is that my guy friends are all gay -- and girl friends are all straight. so, i guess i should try to expand my vocabulary and hang with more straight guys. and lesbians... eventually. baby steps...icon_eek.gif

My best friend, period, is my ex-wife. My next best friends are a handful of straight guys and sometimes their wives. Then come the straight women, of which a few are very close friends but most are casual friends. Some gay women fall into this category too. Finally, on the acquaintance level at best and the nuisance level at worst, are gay men. I'm trying to fix that and get to know more gay men as friends, though.

I had a lot of female friends in highschool. When I got to college it was pretty equal. When I came out to my friends I realized I had more close guy friends than female friends.

Mine is equally 50-50. but i might be somewhat different, because all my friends are straight... of course i 'know' a lot of gay men, but i don't consider them to be my friends. My bf thought it was pretty peculiar...
But is it... am I such a strange phenomenon in the gay stratosphere?? icon_lol.gif
