This footage from a concert in Brisbane recently.

    So sad.

I guess you would like to think that someone can recover quickly and completely from drug use. But then again the message should be loud and clear. There is a price that you will pay.

They're saying in all of the articles that she is coughing and breaking up because she smokes cigarettes. She looks like she is just sweating like a dog up there. She needs rest.

Wow, was that a water *cough* crack break in the middle of the song?

At least it helped her finish the song.

    Elvis 2.0

I still consider her a living legend. Definitely a person for the history books.

^ I remember a time when every single performance she gave was on-point. But that was in the 90s LOL. And if you dig up some of those 1980s clips, they are mind blowing.

I wouldn't lose all hope though. Mariah Carey went through a period when her voice sounded like gravel, but her voice is in great shape now (though not as good as in the 1990s)

Here's the girl who will always sing it well, she's older than Whitney, and wrote the song. I think I'm going to Dollywood this summer! Anyone wanna join me?

How sad Whitney! You can't smoke and expect to have the voice you once did!

Wrestlervic: I drive past DollyWood everyday - its practically in my backyard! Its a great park with lots of rides and shows. Dolly even visits for Grand Opening and appears on stage in the park in random shows. Once upon a time many years ago I used to work there in entertainment. icon_cool.gif

TheGuyNextDoor saidFor some reason, I have always preferred Whitney in the studio over live. Even in the old days.. Her concerts always seem to drag on and get a little boring at points.. If you look at the Million Dollar video above where they keep her on task it always comes off looking and sounding good. Left to her own devices on stage, she always kinda tanks a bit. IMHO

    Note From the Op:

Guy Next Door.....from one who used to be somewhat in the business...all I can say is that in the studio...anything can be made to sound good. Two different voices can be blended together ......one "good take" of a musical passage can be reproduced over and over again to be used throughout the song....lots of tricks. I love the song "Million Dollar Bill" (it is one of my favorite songs of last year) however....I think it was altered in many ways to sound the way it does. Even when she was "recovered" and performed live right after the song was released, I noticed she never once was able to get up to the high notes....the background singers or Alicia Keys did all of that.

Hey I was disappointed when I saw this video....but not surprised. I love her, will be with her, and pray for her....but it does not look good for her right now

If Dolly Parton pushed her drag appeal just a little bit further, she might be considered fashion forward again, lol!

I agree. Somebody in her squad should have said, "that's all baby,
    Let's call it a night". icon_neutral.gif
