It is a known fact that Caslon13000 has the most forum posts but.....who comes in second place?

Being one of the old-timers now and never having even deleted my account once, me duh. (There was actually a time when only around a thousand posts separated my postcount from Caslon's haha).

Though yeah, a lot of the guys here would probably have the same post counts or higher than me if they hadn't done the account deactivated some time in the past years like tanker above and chuckystud. Some of the old-timers here have pretty high postcounts by now too like (GQJock, ActiveAndFit, TheGuyNextDoor, etc). GuiltyGear also had a pretty high postcount before he left. icon_sad.gif

And yeah. It's kinda embarrassing to have a 9000+ postcount. icon_redface.gif

    Note from the Op:

Maybe I am missing something....why would someone delete their account anyway? What would be the point of that? You can simply put on your proifile...."I dont read this account anymore", remove your pictures and leave it at that. If you decided to come back, you could come back. Unless you want ever trace of your existence removed for some reason..kind of like the "RJ Witness Protection Program....lol"

A variety of reasons. Some leaving because the forums have become bitchier in its seasonal PMS bouts. Haha. But yeah, when those happen and the forums lose their interest for me, I would have just gone inactive or stopped posting as I did before rather than delete it outright.

Some were from bans, some from mistakes, some work-related, some relationship status-related, etc. etc.

I did the count a few months back. Sedative and then another drop, then a group of us made up of GQJock, Timberoo, etc.

Although a few months does make a difference. Red Vespa has made quite
    an advance....LOL

Actually fairly steady increase from when I joined in Sep 08, except initially, when I had to quickly make my first 1000-post quota, in order to communicate with Caslon.

(His policy reminds me of an Army Command Sergeant Major I once encountered in the 1970s. When I was promoted to Captain he came over to congratulate me, telling me one of my new benefits of rank was that he would now talk to me.

"Of course, I only work with Majors and above," he sniffed, "but I do speak to Captains. Naturally I don't even acknowledge Lieutenants* which is why I've never spoken to you before."

    *my previous rank

I bit my tongue, tempted to ask him what happened when, as an enlisted Sergeant, he was required to salute those officer Lieutenants, as well as give them a verbal greeting, like "Good morning, sir!" Maybe he didn't consider that formality a violation of his no-speak policy. But every time I think about Caslon's own policy, the memory of that incident comes back to me.)

Oh fu with the quality vs. quantity shite. I've never bragged about my postcount and have many times wished I could reset it to 0 without having to restart a new account. A lot of us with the high postcounts are those who actually engage in discussions and debates (besides being RJ members for years) rather than those who frequent the "would you date/kick/sing/bake a cake/watch a movie/commit a burglary/move to siberia etc. with the guy above you?" threads.

Even Caslon's 1000-post rule was a tongue-in-cheek joke which people took waaay too seriously.

This is like "Who Has The Most Facebook Friends?" Please, ladies!

The only valid question is "Who Has The Biggest Dick?"

Thank you and please come again.

I don't actually remember my post count at the moment, but like Sedative (who I actually predate!), I'm over attacking my keyboard with vigor in the name of forum participation. I don't think I've been all that active, actually, in the past year or more. These days, I usually keep my many, many thoughts to myself...or I mentally shrug and delete my posts three-quarters of the way through writing them. Unless there's somebody hot posting above me that I need to flirt with (hi Tankey!).

Ah yes, but when I speak, unlike others, I speak for many, sometimes all gay people, sometimes just all gay men, sometimes the entire Democratic party, sometimes, all Americans. Takes a lot of posts to speak for everybody. icon_biggrin.gif
