As a kid that is. I didn't but my sister did.

    Where did you go?
    How long were you gone?
    Why did you run away?

Dozens of times. Scream that I'm being abused (I wasn't), jump on my bike, ride away crying, return anywhere between 10 minutes and a few hours but always before dinner. My poor parents. I was tragic and looney.

Once I threatened to, I was all upset over an argument with a neighbor when I was 13. I rode my horse through their yard a half dozen times. My parents weren't very pleased.

That was an exception, I was usually pretty serious and focused as a kid, I got along with my parents... but I had my moments....icon_wink.gif

I attempted to when i was like 6 to get away from my 3 older brothers. Forgot wht the argument was, they probably were beating me up again lol, but i started packing up a pillow case with clothes then went to my parents room packing my clothes from my baptism and that's when my brother stopped me lol.

Parents weren't home and they never found out.

My junior year abroad in college was a big ol' "geographic cure" for my life at that time. I was hoping to leave all the stuff I didn't like about me in the States... it followed me there and picked up a few more pieces of baggage on the way.

At 13 I wanted to be independent from supervision at home so I took an all day bike journey (40 miles, approx.). Nobody knew where I went and I doubt I was even missed. I've always remembered that excursion on my bike as a high point of seeking my freedom! I guess you could say I ran away from the mausoleum for one day.

Not in my day, the mere mention or attempt would have been grounds for a whippin!

One of my nieces threaten to do so. She was told, her sure you can and you can only take what you paid for. She actually thought she was going to take her things...funny! My sister told her "I paid for everything all of this is on loan". She would have left my sister's house naked considering she had not paid for nothing.

Yes I did and I just went to the roof of my house, but then I got hungry and came back (I was a fatty) icon_redface.gif

well I don't know if this counts but my dad threatened to kick me out of the house and I said "oh really? I think you lost your mind" So I went to my room and packed up my clothes and I left I called my friend and we went to Munich for a week we had a lot of fun and my parents hit my cell up the entire time I was out and I was 18 so I could do whatever, and when I came back he was all pissed and I was like "do I need to leave for another week you said you were going to kick me out so I left that's what you wanted right?" icon_rolleyes.gif
and to this day he never again threatened to kick me out and now I fucked moved out. I'm just bad bitch!

I never did, but my cousin ran away for a few days and my mom thought it would be a good idea to scare me before the though crossed my mind. She drove us to down town LA and I was in elemenrty at the time. She stopped on a side street full of homeless people and drug addicts, and she said to me. If you ever think you want to run away let me know, i'll help you pack your stuff and i'll drop you of right here. because this is were you will end up anyway. Then we drove off. And i was like uh... ok...

Threatened to, plotted to, like all kids when scolded. Haha. Then I thought of all the stuff I'd miss if I did.

Funny thing is, it's a favorite parental threat in filipino culture. When they're scolding someone who is acting rebellious rather than admitting their mistake they'd say 'Layas!' ("Pack your bags and run away if you want"). Followed by dire predictions of what would happen if we did (ending up working as a sugarcane cutter, a beggar on the streets, a slave to be sold in Singapore, dead of hunger in the middle of nowhere, etc.). Dayum they had wild imaginations, who'd ever want to run away after hearing all that? LOL

Yes. I spent two nights in the backyard shed of a friend. Every morning she would bring me food and magazines .

When I returned home the first thing I felt was felt was the backhand of my father against my face and my mom pulling my hair out by the roots.

Needless to say, I was grounded forever. I think that's why I'm gay. The expereince also made me macho cause now I knew how soldiers livedicon_biggrin.gif

I ran away mulitple times. I would get a littler further each time. Most of the time I would just hide in the woods and watch my patents look for me.

I went to a friend of mine who lives in Greensboro
    Less than 24 hours
Because my parents didn't approve of me being gay at that point

My parents are divorced and once a year, every summer, my little sister and I "had" to stay with my Dad (who we'd see for a weekend once a month) at his place in Wales for a week.

I was a total Mammy's boy I'm afraid, and we used to make magic potions to return us to my Mam in Newcastle cos we missed her so much.

Needless to say, I didn't drink the potions. Poor little sis used to have to drink shampoo and all sorts lol!

I started a forest fire when I was about 11 or 12. Walking through the woods in autumn, lighting matches and tossing them onto the forest floor while bullshitting with a younger friend. One of them caught and spread faster than we could stop it out, so my friend panicked and ran home. I heard the fire trucks shortly thereafter (very efficient service back then) and ran to hide in my friend's back yard without their knowledge. I might have lasted two hours or 20 minutes (that felt like 2 hours), before I realized I had to face the music.

There was a time when I was so in love that I thought I might agree to run away with my first mutual love... thinking back on it now it scares me how serious I was, especially considering how young I was.
