No worse really than the state of Utah about to make miscarriages a criminal offense! Who has the time to come up with these things?

Very simple to answer, as their public track record shows on these issues: Republicans and religious bigots, two attributes very often combined in the same person.

    I approve.

To avoid any closeted gay members though should kick everyone out and disband the organization. Problem solved.

it really is sad but in a way good as it will make people at least stop and think. I say do the same with marriage. Only allow civil unions for everyone.

Like any self respecting gay would want to work for a Catholic Charity anyway. Stupid as usual. I doubt they'd have anything to worry about.

I love the hate factor here.

The church is false and who ever supports it is also false and I hope it burns hard one day!!

Along with all the other hateful churches..

I've stopped talking smack about this church. I just show these stories to everyone I know and let their actions speak for themselves.

This will have a negative long term impact on their employment pool. In taking a job people consider benefits. Does that mean that they will pay new straight employees a higher wage so they can purchase their own health insurance for their spouse and kids??

What morons! Religion is a fucked up draconian system of belief.

Catholic Charities has always seemed odd to me. Somewhere around 35 years ago we used Catholic Charities as an intermediary because we did not want to contract with the U.S. Government. We sold to Catholic Charities and they as an NGO worked in behalf of the feds.

Had we contracted to the feds, we would have been required to hire and promote based on race, something that the company never did until it was folded into an offshore operation in 1992. Catholic Charities knew the logic behind why we set up the sell to them.

Fortunately or unfortunately there is still enough freedom left in America that you ultimately can do what you want to do....as long as you are willing to pay the price.

Sort of Gabriel's version of purgatory I suppose.
