yes, they are seen as daggy and Canadian, but I am their hugest Aussie fan.

Their music has seen me through every single rough time, as well as the good.

I'm a bassist, so Geddy Lee is my obvious hero.
I will defend them, so go your hardest at being bitchy about these awesomely talented musicians.

Otherwise, feel free to share and discuss your favourite and least favourite moments from this legendary band that has been in action for almost 40 years now.

    I'm Australian.

    Who is Rush Limbough?

1969'er, do you know if they were asked to perform at the Vancouver Olympics? I would like to know. I think they would have performed if asked, even though they are now in semi-retirement.

There is no news on a new album yet. "Snakes And Arrows" had good moments, but wasn't a patch on "Test For Echo", their best album in a long time.

Oh, how I long for the days of "Permanent Waves" and "Moving Pictures".

    Sigh.

I like Rush. But for some reason, the radio stations around here only play Tom Sawyer. icon_confused.gif

I'm into nerdy guy rock, so I knew what this was dealing with icon_cool.gif

I'd love to see these guys live sometime. My favorite bassist of all time, Les Claypool (and one of my favorite musicians too), is heavily inspired by both Rush and Zappa. Primus was performing a ripping version of YYZ during their HallucinoGenetics Tour. Unfortunately I can't find a complete version. This is from the Greek Theater in 2004 I think...they hit curfew and had to stop.

Then another cover of Rush...La Villa Strangiato

Personally I am more a fan of Claypool than Lee. But they are both phenomenal musicians.

I was a huge Rush fan in the early to mid 80s. But I never did see them in concert, sorry to say.
I think my favorite track is "Limelight." But they have many good songs.

I'm def into 'em & their 'progressive' sound! Love the albums Fly By Night, Moving Pictures, Exit..Stage Left, 2112 .... good shit, yo! icon_cool.gif

Though, as w/ the albums I mentioned above, I obviously am more into their OLD/classic stuff.
