GuerrillaSodomite saidKinda odd he put it in his thigh. The butt is an all around better place and is more comfortable if you get a knot at the site. Even odder he was doing it in plain view at the gym. If so, he might have a legitimate Rx for it.
Yeah, lots of things are legally prescribed by injection. A few months back my partner was taking a blood thinner at home that way, that I had learned at the hospital to inject for him. My doctor and I have discussed testosterone self-injections for me, because of my low levels, not for purely muscle building purposes but to forestall bone mass loss. And of course there's diabetes, also mentioned here.
But I think injections at home, or even in a restroom stall, are more appropriate. Even if this were an absolute necessity after a workout, maybe insulin, for myself I'd tell the management so no one got concerned. And also to alert them to the possibility of my having a diabetic incident, so they are prepared to respond.
I actually do that regarding my epilepsy in case of seizure, and always wear a MedicAlert bracelet. Does this guy have such a bracelet or neck chain?
Edit: Does anyone know if all forms of insulin must be kept refrigerated? Or for how long it can be kept at room temperature before spoilage? As God is my witness, I once owned a diabetic dachshund
that needed insulin injections twice daily, and I had to keep the insulin bottles in the fridge all the time. So I'm not sure if diabetics can carry insulin around with them for any length of time.
