Yes, lets bring the celebs to us...let's bring the celebs to real jock by writing about them and or giving reviews of thier movies or Oscar appearances...

This thread here is about Hollywood, and gossip and or whatever, as long as it's related to the Stars...

I sorta got this idea from 'Tom Looney' (he and I use to email) He has a bit called 'Pop Looney' on the JT the Brick show...and it kinda spices up the show...so I will build on that....
    Anyways...coming up next...all things Hollywood....by Starlite....

I will also be writing about Bill Clinton in the future...Burt Renolds, Sally Fields, Connan O'Brian...the geek that he is...icon_eek.gif

Maybe Ice Cube....Dennis Rodman, Maddona, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson...Kurtis Blow....Michael Jordan, Tim Tebow, Bret Farbes, Denis Quade, Saturday night live....Eddie Murphy...all this and more....

Bill Cosbey, Brittney Spears...look, if your a celeb...eventually you will be on here...
If you want to arrange a personal interview with me to set the facts straight about anything (hint hint Tiger Woods)...than contact me through real jock...I'll be here...

    conan-obrien-nbc-new-york-los%20angeles.

Yes, he's an over rated Keebler elf....sorry dude but you are....
    Keebler-Elves_l.jpg
Connan O'brian has always reminded me of a Keebler elf...way way over rated...anyhow...let me go prepare an article about him or my opinion of him...I'm not saying he's not nice or cute or anything...I'm just saying...Keebler elves don't belong on Prime time...
    Ok, I'll be back...

    Conan O'Brian...
    conan.jpg

Johnny Carson retired from late night in 1992,Johnny.Carson.jpg and David letterman was actually doing the show Conan did...so when Johnny Carson left...David thought he would be the natural predicisor...instead they, NBC, choose Jay Leno,(a very young Leno here) jay-leno-young.jpgwho was a frequent fill in for Johnny Carson...
Well David Letterman was so disquested by this move that he left NBC for CBS...where he was offered his on show at the same slot of the tonight show....
When David Letterman left NBC, he took much of his staff and crew with him, but NBC still owned the rights to the name...thus CBS came up with 'Late night with David Letterman'.....david-letterman-courtney-love.jpg
(Is that a male or female standing on Davids desk? I wonder if it's Kirk Coban from Nirvana?)

Anyways...Jay Leno was in place...but with the departure of David letterman, they needed someone to replace him....and well, you know who they chose...
But did you know that Conan O'Brian use to write comedy for the Simpsons?homersimpson.gif and he was also a writer for Saturday night live, and had very little live television experience before his audition...but for some reason they liked him, and the rest is Keebler elf history....

50 cent, are you on steroids? I'm just asking...don't get mad...I'm just asking what others want to know...
You have a hunk of a body...and it's not like you play baseball like Barry Bonds....so I mean you can just be honest with us here on RJ...are you on steroids? or is all that just natural?
Oh, by the way 50cent, I watched that 'Stop Snitchin' video the other night...many think you...well...I'll stop there...
But me personally...I think your cool...I mean you did what you had to do to get on top right...and I loved 'Get rich or die trying'...awesome movie...

Anyways...I'll leave you alone for now...

    1847629_eminem-lady2.jpg
Did you really cross-dress for this video? Would the real Slim Shady please stand up?
Personally I thought you looked kinda cute...I kept wondering if that were you or not...I was like 'Ok, who's that cute girl'....then I was like wait a minute thats, that's Slim Shady!!icon_eek.gif

How did dressing up as a gal make you feel?
Did you find it liberating? And do you plan on doing it again in future videos?
And did Dr Dre like it? Is he the one who made you dress up like that?
    dr+dre
    I think you and Dre are cool...real cool...but D-12...well never mind..I know they're your posse...and I don't want to get beat up...
Marshall Mathers, your ok in my book...rock on dude, rock on...

    Boy George...

    boy-g.jpg

Say what you want, but when this guy first came out with the group 'Culture Club'...I thought he was a female...I just did...back then I had no concept that a guy could look like this...It was probably the first 'feminized' guy many in the newer generation had seen in the mainstream ever...(Not forgetting Flip Wislon whom I meant to do before Goerge)

Alot of American males just flat out thought he was a she...and probably had embarracing moments...when they realized later...that it was a he..icon_eek.gif

Boy Goerge was in the group 'Culture Club' a British Rock band which formed in the early 1980's...They released their first Albulm in 1982...but most were marginal in the UK and elsewhere until their smash hit
'Do you really want to hurt me'...a reggae influenced single.

The song was #1 in the UK, and climbed to #2 in the US.

The band was only together for 4 years...but during that time had 10 top 40 hits, and also were the first band since the Beatles to have 3 top 10 hits from 3 debut albulms...

Their songs kinda have a soulsy british type pop blues sound to it...and are still easy to sing or listen to...I found Boy Goerge to be a very relaxed laid back induvisual...at least as presented in the public...
But like many celebs thrusted into fast fame, he soon found himself addicted to cocaine by 1996, also the year the group broke up...
    cocaine.jpg

    boy_george.jpg
This is the last 'cute' photo of him...and it's on this photo that I want to say I always found Boy George to be an inspiration...
...I never took offense to Boy Goerge...I always felt relaxed when I saw him...he was always so cool, calm and collective...he actually carried himself the way I wished a lot of women did, back then...

He didn't seem Stuck up or arrogant to me...I just saw him as a beautiful colorful soul who did their thing....
But between 1996 and 2010...his looks really changed, he grew up, matured, faught drug addiction...and explored other styles...and for a while him and Rosie O Donnel became real good friends...ok are you ready...

    boy_georgerosie.jpg
Ok, he liked morphed into somekind of space alien creature...
But through it all, I still see that young guy from early on who just wanted to light up the world with his voice....

And also a few years ago, he was arrested and convicted in London for like tying a pizza deliver man up to his bed and whipping him...and he served jail time for that...not sure if yes still serving time or not...you don't hear much about the guy anymore...

Boy have the mighty have fallen...
    boy_george.jpg
And here's a photo of Boy George...or Man George, doing community service, either in New York or London...after he got in more trouble with the law....
His loyal fans continue to stick by him though...I'm not really a fan per say...I just don't judge people who mess up...and I will always still remember him as that cute faced soul from the early 1980's and the way he, they mesmorized people with 'Do you really want to hurt me', and that little shuffle dance he does through out the video...
He dared go where no one else had, back then...and obviously he had influence on slim shady, who himself dressed up as goldie locks in the above photo...
Any ways...hat's off to you Boy Goerge, you did it, and ya did it well...
boy-george-mr-t-250x275.jpg'I pitty the fool who has more hair than me'! (MrT and Boy George...

    Good night Boy George.....

    Who is this mystery man??

    1940_texRitter.jpg
He was an American country music singer and actor from the mid 30's into the 1960's...And ran for a Senate seat in 1970...
They were born in Marvual, Texas...
And starred in many country western films...to name a few
    Song of the Gringo, 1936
    Rollin Westward, 1939
    Oaklahoma Raiders, 1944

    tex%20ritter.jpg

He was also the first artist to sign up with newly formed 'Capital Records'....

    So who is he?
    And why do I care?
He was a legend in the early country music scene...right up there with Hank Sr....
    The answer is below...

He is the Father of John Ritter....yes...Tex Ritter is the Father of John Ritter...
    DVD_Threes_Company_S01.jpg
Two very talented men, with their own completely different styles of entertaining us....
John Ritter was one of my favorite comedians of all time...I loved his style...I grew up on 3's company...I'm a 3's company baby...and so that show has a lot of meaning to me...memories of my own early young exploits...icon_wink.gif

But you hardley ever hear about John Ritters famous father, and the things he did to pave the way for his son..I've never seen the two in a photo together....
John Ritter Himself was born in Burbank, CA...and attended Hollywood High school where he was the student body President...he then attended USC....Oh my gosh, he's a Trojan.trojans.gif..Yes...
And was a member of Phi Gamma Delta....fijicrest.jpg
He majored in phycology and minored in architecture...

    John+Ritter.jpg
Rest in peace John Ritter...and thanks for all the memories and laughs you gave us, and are still giving us....you are a sweet loving gentle soul....202586izhzqwfcm1.gif

    Coming Soon.....Brad Pitt...vs...Matt Dillon....

    brad_pitt_1.jpg

As both actors were 'hot' during their prime, and are now in the twilight of their prime years....which one had a more stellor career? Which one appeared on more magazine covers? Appealed to more women, or males?
Which one was considered more of a sex icon of their time?

    matt-dillon2.jpg

It's kinda hard to compare the two seeing as they come from slightly different eras...like trying to compare a boxer from the 70's to one of the 90's...Bradd Pitt came a long later than Matt Dillon and the original Brat Pack...which includes Tom Cruise....
Personally...I think what hurt Matt Dillons career more than any thing else is movies...or bad agent...he should of never accepted the 'Flamingo Kid' role...
People were use to seeing him as a dark haired Manhatten rebel...not a Caribean prepi....It was movies like 'Rumble fish' 'The Outsiders' 'Tex' and 'Drug store Cowboy'...that built his following....when he deviated from that...it hurt his career...

Anyhow...it's late...but I will come back later and finish my comparison of the two and their career paths...

    Rod Stewart...back in the day...

    rod_stewart_05111976_12_400.jpg

I could see Rod Stewart being a Real Jock member back in the day...if such place had existed back then...yep, for sure...

Quite a stunning young man back then...

Rod Steward...if your reading this...You've always done your own thing...and I grew up listening to many of your tunes...they're forever etched in the phycy of American culture...

I would just like to keep you alive one more time on here, so that others may know who you were...
Rock on, and thanks for the music...

A few interesting notes about Rod Stewart...

    1. He was once a grave digger...(really young)
    2. Was a member of the 'Kinks'...for a short while...
    3. Inspite many thinking he was or is gay...he has been married
3 times...and has had other numerous girlfriends, and has children...
    4. James Brown,(say it loud) once refered to Rod Stewart as
being 'The best white soul singer' of his era...

    this_is_it_movie_poster_michael_jackson.

I recently viewed about 35% of this docu-drama...and I must say...I was glued to the screen...
This guy is amazing...at first I didn't want to watch it...cause I had images in my mind of a old, frail, washed up Micheal....I could not have been more wrong!!

At 50, this guy, Micheal Jackson, was moving and dancing like many half his age still can't...and he operates with such precision...it amazes me how one can remember so many choriographed moves.
And if like one note or sound was off...he would catch it...and halt everything...I guess that's why he's Micheal Jackson...like many performers of his era, he was a perfectionist when it came to his stage routines...

This movie takes you behind the scenes and shows you the hours and hours of rehearsals that go on before a show can be deemed 'worthy' for an audience...
And you get to see the young dancers who back him up...and they two are amazing...
    alg_this_is_it.jpg

Now, about the person of Micheal....

Sometimes I think he was a 'metrosexual'...long before the term ever became mainstream....him and Prince and Rod Stewart...and Elton John...

In other words guys who take notice of themselves and who like to look good all the time...guys who are keenly aware of their image, guys who manage their image like it's a billboard...

I don't think Micheal was gay though...gayish...ye maybe...
We, as humans try to put everything into catigories...I think he was just a loving soul...driven by the need to entertain others...shaped by a world only known to him since age 5.

    thriller.jpg

I personally think he peaked with the albulm 'Thriller'...he basically owned the world then, the entertainment industry...he was the Beatles of the 80's....and he was quite handsome...although at this stage you could start seeing small signs of his p/s...

    But between Thriller...and his next albulm..'I'm bad'....something happened...he changed...big time...

    Michael_jackson_bad_cd_cover_1987_cdda.j

This is when he started loosing touch with common fans, and or the mainstream...and sorta started becoming a charactiture of himself...and when parodies started being made of him....

This was also a time when rap and hip-hop begin to explode onto the record scene...with such groups like NWA and Public Enemy now capturing the pulse of the 'streets'...angry hidden rage was now replacing the traditional large stage performers...

    nwa.jpg

Yes, with the emergance of a new hardened street sound...Micheals style was becoming endangered...

And instead of being 'Mr Cool'...he was becoming someone the 'cool' people dissed...

This would of been a good time for Micheal to become a Producer...and produce talent...(you make way more money that way)....but instead he trudged on...he was caught up in his own reality...driven by his past success...he stopped listening to industry advice as more and more of his popularity shifted over seas to Europe and Russia and Asia...

Those nations have saved many a washed up American artists...

    Anyways...fast forward to 2010....
    244326-275.jpg

And sentiment started building up for Micheal again...as it so often does when a society yearns for the 'good ol days'....and as such he or what some would say some shady industry handlers...icon_twisted.gif
decieded to put together one last tour where Micheal would show case all of his work going back 40 plus years....

And that's what 'This is it' is about...and it's awesome...it's as if the old Micheal was back...and it was a thrill seeing him perform his old hits from Thriller and earlier....
I personally think 'Off the Wall' is one of the best produced albulms of all time...
    off-the-wall.jpg

Back then music had rythmn and melody and were performed by true musical geniouses...the likes of which we may never see again...

And with that...Rock on Micheal...rock on....

And he was cast in Miami Vice...but not sure as who...I haven't watched that movie yet...

    4. He was raised a Catholic and has a large cross tattood on his left forearm...
    5. He has a child..

    R.I.P. Gary Coleman....

    gary-coleman1.jpg

Yes, Gary Coleman past away today...is Webster next?? I hope not...for the tv show 'Differrent Strokes' was a delight to watch back in the day...whether in re-runs or during live seasons...

    cast.jpg

It was actually the first 'Trading places' before Eddies movie.(and some were actually offended at the idea of two young black males staying in the same house as a young white female...many were offended just by the whole idea of people of different ethnic origins being depicted living together on prime time tv)..and tried to show us the effects of one man taking two boys from Harlem...and raising them in a upscale Penthouse...The actress who played 'Kimberly'...past away in real life more than a decade ago...after the show her life kinda went south.....300px-Dana_Plato_mugshot.jpg... In spite of her tough older years...I always thought she was a cute little darling from the show...

    039_35137~Dana-Plato-Posters.jpg
Rest in peace also Dana...and thank you also for the wonderful memories and your always cheerful attitude on the show...you were like bright sunshine....

Willis (Todd Bridges), in real life, kept having run ins with the law....674689xrymr9rogw.gif...and could not manage his money that he made from the show...and was soon broke after production ended....

But another famous show was spun off from Different Strokes...and that's...

    thefactsoflife-seasons1and2.jpg

Who brought us such loving characters as 'Tootie'...the adorable roller blading brat...Joe...the 'Sexy' Tom boy...and Kimberly...the Ivy league rich gal...and of course the the maid...who's name I forget right now...but she was the heart and soul that kept them all together...

We loose yet another Hollywood icon from the past...from our lovable childhood memories....
Now they see these famous deaths always go in 3's...we'll see over the next few days...

Anyways...to the past...and to a wonderfully produced show from the late 70's, early 80's...they don't make them like this anymore...

'What you talken bout Willis!?'....Thanks for the memories Gary...

    diffrent_strokes-show.jpg

Sorry, I really wanted to do a better job...but I'm in a very poor signal area...and couldn't do deeper research I wanted to...but I made add to this post in future days...clean it up a bit and make it flow better...
