Ok, obviously there are a million different ideas about how much carbs one should be consuming, what KINDS of carbs... etc.

Any helpful hints for a real carb lover? what to avoid, what not to avoid... portions that are OK for daily intake?

....as I am sitting here in front of a massive amount of grilled meat (OK for RealJock), piled on top of buttery persian rice (not so ok).... lol

Nothing wrong with rice. Complex carbs are the best, stay away from processed plain carbs (white breads, simple white rice, anything with corn syrup).

Carbs have a bad bad rep, but they are a fundamental building block and well, Persian rice seems perfectly fine to me, although I would opt for brown rice for extra fiber.

    Carbs are yummy.

12-grain bread, whole wheat pasta, long grain rice...YUMMERS!!!! The plain pasta is good too though-just not so frequently.
