Ok so Ive been working out and doing a lot of cardio and weight lifting and I wanted to start taking a protein shake. The only problem I feel like might happen is that the protein shake is going to make me not lose weight (which I need to do). I want to build more muscle and lose fat. What do I do? I dont wanna gain more weight. Is there a better "shake" out there for me? Any ideas would be helpful.

Gold Standard Whey Protein powder from bodybuilding.com is probably your best bet.

I think its more general purpose but I use Body Fortress from Wal Mart. Comes in 2 lb. crates for $12. Less calories than a cup of yogurt.

I found that shakes made me bloated so try to eat your protein rather than shakes.

Maybe there's a misunderstanding here. Proteins shakes don't make you lose or gain weight by itself. They are a nutritional supplement.

Try to clean up your daily food intake. Eat clean and cut back on the "bad" foods. Also, increase the intensity of your workouts. As long as you burn more calories than you consume, you'll lose the fat.

Depends what you want. I like ON 100% whey. Has 31 servings and its like $25. Its most reputable by many people. You take that one after workout. For a snack and before bedtime, I like Gaspari Myfusion. Think its $25 for 20 servings. But its a good protein and I love it a lot!!!

Whey protein has the most value that we need. However, there are some healthier alternatives. I drink a half soy half whey with juice.

Another mistake guys make (including me at one point) was to get the drink with like 50grams per serving. Our bodies can't process more than 30grams of protein at one time. So anymore than that in one sitting is a waste. It's like keep pumping gas after the tank is full. The rest is spillover.

Take half the protein before the workout and half after the workout. Give that a shot.

Tip: Get vanilla powder and mix it with OJ in a blender. Best tasting shake combo. : )

I like the Myoplex protein shakes - the powdered ones you blend, not the ready to drink stuff in Walmart.

buring fat and building muscle can be done at the same time - i would stay away from shakes and all that GNC crap - get the protien intake you need from chicken and egss and tuna and milk, get twice as many carbs, and create a calorie deficit.

The chakes wont make you gain weight - if you push in more protien than your body can use, you just crap it out - its carbs that can get stored as fat...
