How often do you switch up your routine? That is assuming you already have one. Do you find that when you switch up the routine sooner that the exercises become more effective? If you follow the same routine for weeks on end do you integrate a different move in somewhere within your workout to keep your body guessing?

That's a good question. I settle into routines very easily, but I heard that every 3-4 months or so you should change.

    I forgot where I got that though.icon_neutral.gif

Muscles need to be "hit" from different angles. Or bodies are very adaptable, and will soon realize how much effort is needed to do an exercise and grow just enough to complete that task.
So changing our routines is part of the game if you want to continue to grow. Depending on how your body is responding to an exercise should be a good indicator as to when you need a change. If your exercise is unproductive I would say it is time for a change. And that probably runs about every 3 months.
    Great workouts

Of course it's different for everyone, but I've heard six weeks is when you're supposed to change routines...

I switch it up every month or so. Never do the same cardio for more than a week though.

I'm not really sure. I'm always hitting different machines and doing different things each time I go in.
