It says that there is a petition but I don't know where that is....maybe one of you can find it.

Our friends in Italy are finding it really difficult to get any media interest or coverage of the upcoming marriage equality case in Italy, so they are relying on outside help.

This petition will hopefully help raise awareness online and globally of the case and within Italy too:

    How you can help
    1) Sign the appeal supporting the freedom to marry court case, sending a message that the world is watching to: petition@retelenford.it

    2) Spread the news that on March 23rd the Constitutional Court in Italy will pass a judgment on same-sex marriage.
    3) Ask the media in your country to report the court case.

Thanks for posting this. As someone whose parents were born in Italy, I'll be watching this one closely!

The Corte Suprema di Cassazione is a pretty liberal institution. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they rule favorably on this measure. In fact, they have done many things that the Italians consider utterly outrageous lately, like banning the crucifix from public classrooms.

I am not entirely sure that the kind of e-mail campaign they are proposing is going to help very much. Also, the methodology they are providing is really pretty bizarre.

In any case what they want you to do is send an actual e-mail to this address

    petition@retelenford.it

The text of the message is supposed to say --

The world is watching and (insert your name and country) support the affirmation of same sex marriage in Italy.
