Don't know if this question has been asked before, but I'll be travelling through the rest of Europe this summer. Does anyone have any recommendations on cities I should visit and any bars, restaurants or clubs I should check out?

Probably help to be a little more specific about your destination. What do you mean when you "the rest of europe". e.g. each of the 27 EU states, just the new ones, non members, EFTA or perhaps russia? Where ever you do go, Barcelona and Tel Aviv should be on the list...

I haven't really done the "scene" in my various European travels, but I will tell you that my favorite cities/regions include Prague, Cracow, Barcelona, Paris, Edinburgh, Lake Geneva, Devon England, Berlin, Avignon and many more.

Last I checked, Tel Aviv wasn't in Europe.

My favourite European cities are Budapest, Berlin, Amsterdam, & London. Though Prague, Dublin and Barcelona were fun too... I love Glasgow, Manchester, and Birmingham but accept the fact that they're not really gay "must-see"s. LOL

I'm off to Stockholm & Gothenburg this July!! icon_biggrin.gif

No, I noticed that too.... Though Israel does participate in the Eurovision Song Contest, and no one's ever been able to explain to me why.

well I'm currently on an exchange in Amsterdam so while i'm here I'd like to see other parts of Western Europe and also travel to Southern Europe.
I'm particularly interested in the the gay friendly spots as well.

Ok guys, brace yourselves for some good spots.

Paris - great city, but a bit tougher to get things done without a lot of money. But really, what's trip through Europe without having seen Paris?
If you're there, check out the Eiffeltower (duh), les Champs ELysees, grab a cup of coffee while sitting at the Seine, and the Louvre is amazing. really, amazing.
Cote d'azur - literally translated: the Azure coast. It's the south coast from France, runs from Spain to Italy. It's amazing to cruise around that area in the summer.
French westcoast - nice for surfing!
Barcelona - an amazing city, though advised to travel there when it's not too hot. The city is beautiful, a place where the old (par example Gaudi buildings) meet the new buildings. check out the Sagrada Familia, Las Ramblas, the royal fountains, or take a Gaudi bus tour.
Madrid - Great city, though i always miss the sea out there. Nevertheless, it's truly Spain. and has a gay city area! travel here when not too warm, the countryside is perfect in the spring.
Spanish up - up north (costa dorado for example) is great is you wanna do some partying. Salou as well, that's a 100 kilometers below Barcelona.
Also very nice in spain: the south part. Check out amazing places like Estepona, Torremolinos, Gibraltar, or Marbella.
Florence - a marvellous place in Italy. Art lovers --> love it. And above all, there's nothing like coffee in Florence.
Cinque Terre - A true postcard group of villages in the upper part of Italy, at La Spezia. one of favourite places to go!
Verona - Like Rome, but smaller. Has its own Colloseum, and great italian bars. Also some expensive stores out here.
Rimini - the Italian Salou, that's the equivalent of ehm.. daytona beach during spring break?
Rome- what not to say about Rome.. just go.
Pompeii - when in Rome, go here. so strange to actually be in a place that was scorched off the face off the earth 2000 years ago. ( in 74 B.C. i believe, just as aa place called Herculaneum and some others.)
Naples - same as Rome, just go allright?!
Sicily - If you like the peace and calm, good place. Has some nice cities, amazing nature. And over the past thousands of years many people have been here ( the Romans, the Arabs, the Greek, the French, the Spanish, the Visigoths, yadiyadiya) so it has some interesting history. You gotta love Italy though to go this deep.
Rovinj - first off all, it's spelled correctly. second of all, it's in Croatia. little coastal place, resembles a 3D postcard. has a beautiful church next to the sea, quite the intruiging sights.

    Ok, part two!

    let's start up north again.
London - a great city, very big, very diverse, vere cloudy. It's a true modern British you'll like it there.
Rest of Britain: good, if you drive a motorcycle then you should go do that! check out the Stonehenge, quite the photogenic place.
Amsterdam - i'm not even gonna give an explanation why.
Berlin - talking about a bipolar city! the Berlin wall has made up two entirely different cultures, the east and the west. great place, could be done easily without a truck filled with cash.
nice to do when you have time: you can actually travel from London to the south of France by train, you'll cross the entire Channel (that's the part of sea between France and England) below sealevel. don't do it when you're claustrophobic.
Germany has some great spots, Hamburg is a pretty city as well. It's just not my favourite place to go to! But if you're in Germany, Switzerland or Austria, go get some fresh mountain air.
Scandinavia: Stockholm is a beautiful city! funny thing about Sweden: people can dress really provocative there. So not all guys are gay, they just wear hotpants.. that's all. (kidding!)
Kopenhagen, greeaat city to do some northern shopping!
and Norway is for the naturefreak the place to be. you can walk forever there..
enjoy the fjords in Scandinavia, take a refreshing (more like freezing) dip!
Also nice, there's a serious lack of women is these areas. *major wink*
    wait, i forgot Greece!!
go to Mykonos for some gay fun, and do some island hopping. Rhodos, Kos, Lesbos, Karpathos and others to mention a few.
then there's also Cyprus.. think i married the food in that region.
And.. the ultimate place of sin: IBIZA. Homeland of sex, dancing all night long, tolerance, dragqueens, sun, and sex, and sex too.

-- why i left so many countries out? no particular reason, these are just worth mentioning.

Just did the whole eurotrip thing, and am currently living in Berlin. My biggest recommendations:

Prague--it's the cheapest place I've ever been. ever. Beer is cheaper than clean water, and the architecture is beautiful. You'll be hard pressed to find someone who speaks English, though.

Berlin--It's just an incredible city with incredible history and an amazing gay culture. I read somewhere once "If Paris is the city of love, then Berlin is the city of fuck." It's a really great place to be if you are looking to have sex, or if you're an artist. The art scene here is really, really diverse and colorful.

Venice, Florence, Rome-- Venice is just plain romantic, florence has the best food out of all of the places I went in Italy, as well as some of the most interesting places to visit, and Rome is just... grandiose. Italy is a must-see.

Munich-- lots of beer, but can be pretty expensive there. Stay at a hostel with a bar, and you'll be in business. It's a great city and the English Gardens are beautiful especially in the summer.

also, don't go to denmark, switzerland, or england if you're on a budget, because they are all outrageously expensive countries to be in.

Take advantage of your timing and visit Scandinavia during the longggg summer days! You can shag anybody, gay or straight, lol... They're all cool with it after some drinks if there are no girls around. icon_razz.gif (because to them it doesn't make them gay, go figure) It can be expensive, but there are hostel options. Try to meet someone and get them to invite you into the country for a kräftskiva! (crayfish BBQ) You'll have a wild time.

..."Tel Aviv" - true i was a bit cheeky suggesting tel aviv since Israel (formerly Palestine) is in Asia. However, for cultural purposes and gay life, Tel Aviv is undoubtedly european. BTW Israel is an associated country of the EU and pay to participate in many research and cultural activities.

Since you are in Amsterdam, you should warm-up before tackling Bryan's excellent list. Consider some short weekend train trips to:

Brussels - home of chocolate, beers and lace, but low on gay bars however the monthly La Demance party is famous and gay muscle travel from across europe for its depravity. You need a car to get to medieval Brugge and the WWII cemetaries east of brussels, but it is worth it.

Berlin - great for sightseeing and bars. Best drag outside australia.

Copenhagen - You are unlikely to ever go again, but this friendly city is great for serious designer shopping and chilling with the danes is about the most relaxing thing you can do. Not a lot of bars (Pan is still the center of it all), but you will have fun. You can get off the train at Liepzig or Hamburg to see the old trading towns central to european wealth - and the home of the burger.

WITHOUT A DOUBT, you have to visit the island of Santorini in Greece. It's stupidly beautiful!!! So much so it actually left me speechless! The food is amazing, the people are so sweet, the scenery is incomparable and it's great for people who love to walk...walk from one end of the island to the other.
