I am noticing these posts in comments around HIV/AIDS websites and have not seen evidence of the movie yet or when it would be playing near me...anyone know anything about this?

I'm trying not to discount it, but the underground way it is being publicized seems odd to me...

"The HIV/ AIDS Story is Being Rewritten
In House of Numbers, an AIDS film like no other, the HIV/AIDS story is being rewritten. This is the first film to present the uncensored POVs of virtually all the major players; in their own settings, in their own words. It rocks the foundation upon which all conventional wisdom regarding HIV/AIDS is based. House of Numbers could well be the opening volley in a battle to bring sanity and clarity to an epidemic gone awry."

The film's available for view on demand (cable/satellite) or can be purchased on DVD/iTunes.

I watched the trailer, which was well done and interesting. The team of folks who pulled it together are good at marketing. From the outside, it looks like it's a video about how a cure might soon be available.

The content of the video attempts to suggest that HIV and AIDS (and their relationship with one another) are both completely fictitious, and both were created as a way to line the pockets of healthcare.
Here's a copy/paste of an individual who wrote a review on iTunes:

"It was funded by the AIDS Denialist "organization" called "Rethinking AIDS." Some of the people in the film actually end up dying of the disease they denied! But the film doesn't let you know that. It is pseudoscience and propaganda, unfortunately dangerous. Look at the Wikipedia article on it for an accurate description, not including the other reviews:

The New York Times: described the film as "a weaselly support pamphlet for AIDS denialists," "willfully ignorant", and "a globe-trotting pseudo-investigation that should raise the hackles of anyone with even a glancing knowledge of the basic rules of reasoning."

I'm all for questioning common thinking. After all, that's how new discoveries are made. So, great. The authors are stating a hypothesis that says HIV / AIDS doesn't exist. What they fail to do, however, is to address what actually causes the various symptoms associated with HIV / AIDS, nor do they address how to diagnose or treat those who have the symptoms.

OK, now that I've read into this a little bit, I wonder if denialist groups like "Rethinking AIDS" should be investigated for their funding sources. Clearly an illogical and insupportable position to hold, so why would they hold it?

Extreme denial by people who have HIV/AIDS could be understood, on a purely emotional level that transcends science & common sense. But who else might have a motive to advance such erroneous concepts?

Perhaps those who would rather not see public moneys & resources devoted to fighting HIV/AIDS, especially because it's largely associated with the gay community? Those who want to hurt gays?

Well, my own little conspiracy musings, in reply to theirs about HIV/AIDS not really existing. But honestly, I would like to see these denialist groups investigated, to make sure there's not someone behind them with an anti-gay or other nefarious agenda. Because on face value they are so totally wrong they lend themselves to suspicion.
