Having recently turned 29, and having seen the difficulties that come from trying to follow specific 12-week plans when you can always give some reason why a particular week isn't good, I've launched a new project: Mike v 3.0. In it, I'm hoping to get myself into the best shape I can possibly be by the age of 30, which is a year from now (or, really, a year from last week). Since I tend to go long when I'm writing, I've set it up as a blog, which I'm linking to here. Any and all comments, either over there, on this thread, or on my profile are welcome and appreciated.

    Vertical leap..

Try doing some plyometrics. Find some stairs. Jump every other step. Once you get the hang of it, try jumping every two steps.

You can also do barbell jump squats in the gym. Start out light and get a feel feel for the movement. Then add a little more weight. I like to warm up first with 2 sets of regular squats with slightly heavy weights. Then I remove the weights to something lighter. I try to do 6 - 8 reps, 2 - 3 sets. This is not an exercise that I do often. Just once in a while to break up a plateau.

Also, why was this posted under the Dating sub-forum? icon_lol.gif

Everything on this site is in some way related to dating, sex or relationships. It's the Gay Unified Field Theory at work.

Nope, no moderation turned on for comments. A long comment of yours did appear on the 18th, Caslon, on the first post on the site. Is that not the one you meant?

Updates to be posted this weekend. It's been a busy few days in lab, and I've prioritized a) getting work done, and b) actually getting a workout done rather than writing anything up, but I know better than to let a full week go by without writing something.
