Just this past Friday, I attended a reception for a gay couple, who were celebrating their legal marriage in New Hampshire, where they keep another residence. And the focus and benefactor of this party was Equality Florida. The Deputy Director of Equality Florida gave a presentation, and the gay mayor of our town spoke, too, along with some other notables. I wrote a check for Equality, needless to say.
There are a few here who (I suspect out of personal jealousy), criticize me for mentioning things like this as bragging. I would hope that's not my motivation. Indeed, others at that party gave far more than I can.
My point has always been to illustrate what we should all do for our gay community. Whether with money or volunteerism, we should do SOMETHING, whatever is within our abilities & resources.
If this little kid in Arkansas can do this, what more should WE be able to do?
