U.S. pushing Netanyahu to accept demands for peace talks

"In an effort to get peace talks back on track, the Obama administration is pressing Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to [1] reverse last week's approval of 1,600 housing units in a disputed area of Jerusalem, [2] make a substantial gesture toward the Palestinians, and [3] publicly declare that all of the "core issues" in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including the status of Jerusalem, be included in upcoming talks, U.S. officials said.

The three demands, relayed on Friday by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in a tense phone call with Netanyahu, have not been publicly disclosed by the administration. But Israel is expected to provide a formal response on Tuesday. U.S. officials are casting it as a test of Netanyahu's commitment to the relationship between the United States and Israel.

"We have to have guarantees that these kinds of things will not happen again," said a senior U.S. official, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue. "If he is unwilling to make that kind of commitment, it raises the questions of how committed he is to negotiations -- and it raises the question of how committed he is to the relationship between Israel and the United States." [Emphasis added]"

I am hoping Hillary Clinton is serious about this. Sometime talking won't work, because Israeli control America.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his foreign Minister Shimon Peres. Peres warned Sharon that refusing to heed incessant American requests for a cease-fire with the Palestinians would endanger Israeli interests and "turn the US against us. "Sharon reportedly yelled at Peres, saying "don't worry about American pressure, we the Jewish people control America."

"The Israelis control the policy in the congress and the senate."

Obama have so many pro-Zionist in his cabinet. Vice President and Rahm I. Emanuel for example.

No offense, but who cares? In the bigger picture of the world, who cares? Isrealis hate Palestineans. And the Palistineans hate the Isrealis. They want the rest of the world to care about their stupid conflict over this mile of land or that mile of land. I say they should both grow up. If I was President, I would say guys, solve your issues over a few miles of dirt. You take half, I will take half, don't blow up my kids and I will not blow up your kids. Then move on. If they do not agree, then the USA should stay out of it. Let them kill each other. Clinton will not solve this. The last Clinton did not. Let them keep fighting till one side gets tired. Just my thought....

"U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in unusually blunt remarks, called Israel's actions an insult."

But the Palestinians would do themselves a favor and not allow themselves to be baited by Israel into violent demostrations.
