I saw this on a website today and had to share.

    Pick two.

    One that best describes you.
One that best describes your perfect mate.

    No deviations. No explanations.

Simply, pick two. (Not as easy as you think).

    Here goes.

    1. Intelligent
    2. Good Looking

    Me:
    - Emotionally Stable, Good Looking

    Desired Partner:
    - Intelligent, Emotionally Stable

I was tempted to call myself "intelligent" instead of "good looking," but right now I'm trying to figure out just what intelligence is...is it knowing facts, knowing how things work, or is it the careful application of both? And which category I fall into, I'm not sure. Plus there are different types of intelligence...language skills differ from math skills, which differ from social skills, which differ from political skills (in my opinion). Which is the most important, and can anybody master them all?

I think I'm reasonably attractive -- not gorgeous, but I don't generally cause people to run screaming into the night. (Well, at least one guy on RJ thinks I'm hideous, but technically he thinks that my rotting soul is hideous. At least one other shares his opinion.)

Desired partner -- good conversation and the ability to handle life's complications without completely flying off the handle is preferable to hotness. And there's such a thing as being hot on the inside. (Which I'm not! Woo!)

i think a sign of intelligence is a significant degree of self-examination. to wit, above.

i consider myself fairly intelligent, but i'm not sure if i'm supposed to pick two of the three for me and then two of the three for my partner...or two of the three for my partner...or six altogether on every other wednesday.

    i'm going to guess:

    me: intelligence
    you: emotionally stable

ideally, you have all three and are able to accept me as i am...having none of them. icon_razz.gif

Emotionally stable and intelligent! I wanted to say good looks but that usually fades through time! I prefer to be more realistic so I much choose substance!

According to the original poster's rules:

    Me: Intelligent.
    Him: Emotionally Stable.

This does also bring to mind my best friend in college. She said often eough -- the the point where it was almost a tagline -- "In college, there are three things. Grades, friends, and sleep. Pick 2."

Most of us did not choose sleep.

carabin saidit says "pick TWO", people, that's the point!

    Note from the Op:
Thank you carabin! Yes just 2. One for you, one for your dream mate!
It is intriguing to look at the responses. So few pick "good looking" to describe themselves.... Just soulasphyx, and sexyactionnic kinda sorta (though he picked 4!)

    For everyone else.....

Is it that you don't see yourself as good looking, or......

perhaps you don't want to seem boastful (though picking one of the other two is boastful in a way also).....or.......

Maybe you think that we can see that it is a given that you are attractive...because we can see your pictures..... or....

perhaps you just don't want to be thought of as just good looking or shallow?

Hey I am in the same boat....I didn't pick good looking either.
It is just interesting since this is RealJock and all....

Ahh. I misread. Plus I was going off of "The Triangle," ala The L Word. (Fast, Good, and Cheap -- you can only have two at any one time.)
