Time to employ the Ignore button for you, Chaser - On the way .... (whatever your new name is.) Question: Why? Why are you here? What good can come of your being here? What did you hope to accomplish with all these odd "poor pitiful Pearl" posts?

"Gurl", "Fems", "Sissies", "Drag Queens", and etc. If anyone here has "internalized homophobia" (as in what, a fear of other men/masculinity) then it's going to be these groups, not the other way around. Being comfortable in your masculinity and embracing it is nothing of the sort.

People who are truly comfortable and secure in their masculinity don't need to dole out the harshness on those who are less masculine. Having issues with queeny guys reflects insecurity.

Not sure why bottoms are included in that list. I'm a bottom but very masculine. I don't know why tops would look down on us either. If it weren't for us, they'd never get to top.

Hey Muscles4muscles is right....DON'T HATE ON THE BOTTOMS. Without bottoms, I'd be one really sad guy.

if we add old creepers, young fresh-meat , meatheads and fatties (ironically enough which you of all people forgot to include)*

I think we will have just about touched every base

*Not hating here anyone who's ever seen the guy before will be well familiar with his whining

    Peace.

Only when I need to. That latest "flaming gays" thread just pissed me off.

I posted this to that thread, having lived in Seattle for years, and understanding what the OP meant. These things are situational, you know.

Fearthefall said...Anybody else out there notice this with the young (20-something) gay people in their region, that they're either on fire or still live in their parents' basement?

I have little contact with 20-somethings here in Florida, we don't go to the same places. And most are working or in school, during the hours I'm out & about. But the few I see don't seem flaming, though perhaps some a bit flighty & flaky, at least to an old grumpy curmudgeon.

Seattle was different, for the 5 years I lived there in the 1990s. Capital Hill, especially along the sidewalks of Broadway, always looked like a combination costume party-drag show had just gotten out. A lot of it had to do with the Seattle college being down at one end, a radical little campus, but there was also just a general tradition of outlandish dress & behavior there, I don't know why. And many were computer nerds, too, not surprising with Microsoft right there in Redmond, though gaming wasn't quite as all-consuming as it is for some now.

So what you're still seeing in Seattle may be exceptional, unique to that community, and not representative of 20-something US gays in general. Have you traveled around and compared other places?

Do idle back, and consider that different parts of the US are,,, different.

I so LOL'd when I read "sissies" and "chicks with dicks"
I love the labels and their negative connotations. It amuses me. Because at the end of the day those labels mean nothing....you're just a human being, trying to get through ur life the best way u know how.
