Gen. Sheehan has maintained that the shift towards peacekeeping operations and a lower combat capacity has been directly correlated towards allowing gay and lesbian soldiers in the militaries of the US' allies.

He goes on to say the Srbrenica massacre was in part due to the presence of LGBT soldiers in the Dutch contingent.

This desperate attempt at linking the failure of the Dutch army in Bosnia to their acceptance of gay troops can only be a sign that conservatives are really concerned that gays will be allowed to serve openly.

This is getting a lot of bad attention globally, so Gen. Sheehan may have ruined his credibility.
