For weeks now, if not months there is this constant advert on the RJ home page "Date Wealthy Men"

Personally I find it an insult to gay men. Do those people that put those adverts there think we are all about money. I think it lowers the image of RJ.

    Anyone else agree with me?

    I wondered about that myself.

I just saw it as an advertisement to a specific target audience....like just about any ad. The "gay" aspect was just a "duh" for me. This wouldnt be the place to advertise for "Would you like to date wealthy women," now would it?

My RJ ads only recently began appearing, I presume as my previous Supporter Membership ran out, so I haven't seen these yet. And frankly, my eyes try to ignore all ads.

Offering dates with wealthy men is indeed an insult, in my view, for both parties, and so I agree with you. I can't imagine why a wealthy man would want to advertise himself in that way, which could only serve to attract "gold-diggers" as they were once termed.

I've had a couple of millionaire BFs, and their money was more an impediment to our relationship than a bonus. In fact, I actually had one tell me my lack of money was my biggest drawback to our becoming partners, and it was only my notable background & breeding that made me acceptable in his social circles.

I insisted on paying my own way with these guys, my own fair share, and their lifestyle nearly bankrupted me. Some other guys stupidity think I have money myself, but I'm in my post-wealthy phase, aka poor as a church mouse. LOL! So if someone approaches me as their wealthy guy, I slap him down post-haste.

Anyway, dating a guy for his money is really a dead-end, as far as I'm concerned. Try it for a giggle, but don't expect much to come of it.

i saw the ad as well....but you do know that there are younger gay men out there who live with the sole purpose of being with a rich man for his money as they fancy material objects and like being told how beautiful they look right? So thats where these individuals come in...to capitalize on the vanity of immature, young/ old gay individuals.

    I ignore the ads.

The ad banners are the price we pay for not being required to pay to use this site. I'm sure realjock has some sort of agreement with them, and that's probably why their ads are always on the screen.

There could be much worse banners up there, I don't think that too much thought is given in terms of online advertising relationships between websites.

Plus women are notoriously bad gold diggers. They are just as shallow about money and prosperity as men are about aesthetics.

As much as I am not a fan of the subject matter, I have absolutely no problem with the ads being there. As long as they're there, and I see them, these companies are giving money to keep RJ online and free.

Think about that every time you see an ad you disagree with! In fact, click on them! That costs them even more money!
