    Hi All,
I get annoyed by fakes but this one's taking it too far!!! icon_eek.gif Now I just want to sort of conduct a survey if it's a YES or NO re: subject above.
Sorry, it's strictly YES or NO. I will count only first 21 votes. I can’t wait to out rangel282005 for using a popular Filipino actor’s photo. Oh, there I said it. icon_lol.gif Just Google images of Piolo Pascual, you'll see what I mean. icon_wink.gif
    Keepin' it real,

    No, not necessarily on RJ.

By and large, if I have sufficient and conclusive grounds for suspecting that someone is using pictures of someone else and misrepresenting himself, I will report the picture violation to the moderators.

It's a rarity though, as I need something conclusive, including something that preempts the possibility that the guy isn't just having a "vistitor's profile" (one where he establishes a profile for a different city / region for the purposes of when he travels there).

The last instance I reported was when someone on another site (different site, similar deal), Gaysir.no, misrepresented himself with the pictures of a then-RJ member, with significant discrepancies in age and location. On that particular site, it is permitted to have profile pictures of other people; however, on all of the pictures you upload you have to declare whether it is a picture of yourself or someone else (the guy I reported declared the former).

I am more lenient on RJ, though I am uncertain of whether I should be.

Knowing you wouldn't have any idea who Piolo Pascual is. icon_razz.gif

Here's proof he is NOT the guy in the pictures on his profile:

I'd have to be certain that a fake picture was being used, but sure, I'd notify the RJ Board. I think all here would say a fake picture is inappropriate.

I would want to make absolutely sure before I spread rumors. I see he offers to web cam. What if this guy just looks like the actor, or is the actor? Have you seen the exact same photo?

I have a web cam and use it to chat with people I think may not be who they claim. I know of at least 2 guys that are lying here on RJ. I have confronted them and they denied it while I am looking at them. I have not reported it but probably should. My thoughts are they will just start over and at least I know who they are.

I know people on here who are 40 and use a picture from when they were 18. Should I out them? I have one picture from 2002 you can clearly see I look younger then the ones from this summer. I have had a person question me about the main photo and thats why I put the younger one up to show the resemblance. If he would have tried to out me how would I defend myself, have everyone I know open a profile and say yes thats him?

So should you out people yes or no. Depends on how sure you are. Maybe we should have a place to "Report fake profile/pictures. But that puts a lot of work on the staff of realjock.

Absolutely. I do this on myspace whenever I find it. That's just wrong, especially when the guy is all about cam, hookups, etc. in his profile.

NO, I use a sexy millionaire porn star's pics.

But, all kidding aside, NO! Have you ever heard of the term "Don't start none won't be none?" What if this guy opens a post against you? Then it's a flame war the likes of which, Real Jock has never seen because it's WHAT? AGAINST THE RULES.

I have seen at least three RJ members who have posted pictures of "themselves", which were the exact same shots of men I'd seen on porno/and or model sites. Now, I do know of one legitimate model who is a member of RJ, so I haven't said anything. But at least two of these I'm fairly sure are fakes. One is a headless torso shot that I've seen in at least three other places, but one, more flagrant, is a full-face and body shot of a German man posted by someone who is not German.

Interesting, rangel282005's profile is already gone.

But if someone else were using a picture not his own, and I had proof of it, I'd report them to RJ, not publicly humiliate them.

There are so many guys on this site and others that use pics that are not of them. Thats is why its important to verify who you are.

It is one of the things that drives me crazy on here.

I think they should be turned in.

I'm quite amused watching people get publicly humiliated for fake profiles. I'm amused that people think it's wrong.

It's not the real person you're dealing with after all, it's a fake. People should be encouraged to be honest and disparaged from lying. If he put up a photo of Joe Actor and stated the photos were not of him in his profile, all is fine - he's not lying. Have you considered the guys that have messed around sexually with people like this? How would you feel if you had sex with someone then found out they were very unattractive to you? In my mind it borders on cyber-rape.

I vote for yes, even though that profile is no longer active. The structure is in place on this site to report "Fakes", so do it. I reported a guy who was using a photo of someone I know. That profile was gone in few days.

Fakers should put their faking efforts into a real enterprise, such as working out.

I would also say to tell the Administrators about the fakers. Altough, I have a friend who seems to appear on more then one site under different names and ages. So I first thought that they would be fakers, so i reported it. Turns out that it was actually my friend who made those Profiles, but he did not explain why.

There is a guy on this site that is using one of my friends pictures from Facebook. I know he has to be a friend of my friend because I don't think you can veiw ALL the pictures of someone else's facebook profile. I sent him an e-mail saying hi... never heard back. LOL, my friend is not gay and doesn't know that his pictures are on this site. He is F-I-N-E!!! You can tell the person just copied the pics because of how small they are. icon_rolleyes.gif

    I agree with FirefighterBlu3...

If more of the fakes were humiliated, then maybe there would be less fake profiles on here.
