can't say I have had such a pain in my side as you describe while running on a treadmill--could be the treadmill equivalent of a side stitch. Probably just indicates that you are working your abs and oblique muscles or it could be an indication of poor running form. Check it out with a sports medicine doc

You're out of shape. Learn to breath properly and get in better shape.

    Voila!

Sounds like a side stitch (fancy way of saying you're getting cramps).

I usually eat some banana the day I work out or hit the treadmills, potassium helps deter muscle cramping.

it could be gait ie the way you run, do you twist or anything, it could be hydration or it could be just stitch.

Try ensuring you are well hydrated have a nana an hour before and then see if it carries on if it does it maybe worth getting someone to look at the way you run either a coach or an Alexander technique specialist.

Chances are tho its fitness and as oxygen circulates better around the body it will pass

You are getting lactic acid build up in your muscles
do to a lack of oxygen

When you exercise>>>> running on the treadmill
your body shuttles blood to the outer muscles that need it and away from the core, the mucles in your torso and your digestive tract

plus if your body is over exerting itself...it will go into anaerobic metabolism...thereby building up lactic acid which gives you the pain in your side

I am glad you said "abs" in your original posting. From the title I thought your "sid" was a euphemism to something more private in which case I was going to recommend a jockstrap ..
