I don't know if I classify as a "fan," but she's pretty good.

Yes, I am a big fan of hers. My favorite movies are My Foolish Heart and The President's Lady. I was devastated when I saw her appear at the Oscars on the arm of Charleston Heston. It was obvious the brian tumor was taking its toll. She had a seizure after her appearance and was dead within a month.

Susan Hayward was great in The Marriage Go Round - with James Mason and Julie Newmar. (Note also the gorgeous guys in the pool scene below. Don't drool too much over the guys' bathing suits)

I thought of Susan Hayward the other day on the Gay Film thread when someone mentioned "Die Mommie Die!" I always think Charles Busch is channeling Susan Hayward in that film, his voice and inflections are dead on:

Like Malefeet, I'm also a fan of "With A Song In My Heart," which (drag queens take note!) has long been considered the best onscreen lip syncing ever. Check out the tall skinny kid she's singing to - it's Robert Wagner, unbelievably young and hot! Shame HE wasn't in "The Marriage Go-Round" pool scene...

Terrific, though often over the top in a good way.

Love her in the rarely seen Deadline at Dawn. She was in very few comedies, it's true (at least films intended to be comedies). She played Mame (in the musical) in Las Vegas. She could sing decently, making it odd that she was dubbed in Valley of the Dolls.
