Social Security to See Payout Exceed Pay-In This Year
    By MARY WILLIAMS WALSH
    Published: March 24, 2010

This year, the system will pay out more in benefits than it receives in payroll taxes, an important threshold it was not expected to cross until at least 2016, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

I would have hoped Congress could have fixed the problems with Social Security and Medicare before offering subsidized health insurance to such a huge number of citizens.

Oh, and putting the banks out of the student loan business this week as well.

What is up with this government?

One, that has nothing to do with this congess. Are you actually trying to blame Congress for Social Security? Gee, they should have foreseen back in the day of the Great Depression that there would be another recession that couopled with baby booms would cost more than wages produce due to the massive unemployment. For shame they failed to see that in the 30s!

Second, the student bill is a breath of fresh air. A lot of the 70 billion those financial instiutions make is paid for by the government's subsidized stafford loans. By becoming the proprietor of the loans, that paid interest stays within the government and can then go to increase pell grants, which in turn decreases the amount of debt our country is in.

I'm sure we've all seen this. I would have thought that SouthBeach would have beaten you to it.

Now, if you were being honest, you would have also noted that the article ACTUALLY says that Social Security payments will not exceed revenue until 2037, or later is the economy recovers more quickly.

And the banks should be out of the student loan business, considering it cost 25% more to have them as middle men.

Well you know what happens when you hand out more cookies from the cookie jar than what is going into it, now don't we. But.......somehow it's going to be the Republicans fault, I await in anticipation to see how this pans out.

If you're in your late 30's, I'd hate to see how you look by your mid-40's. Life has not been good to you, has it?

How about you become diversified and lean another form of English, other than American, You know the Germans created English not the Americans, so why should we all convert to American english, just so Americans with limited abilities can understand us. Funny I communicate with a number of educated Americans here, and they have no trouble understanding one, so the limitation is yours Sunshine, and not mine..........So own it.icon_biggrin.gif

Uh oh, I seem to have stepped into some kind of liberal wolf pack here.

I thought this was the part of the site where one could discuss their political views.

I also thought that gays especially would be sensitive to things like "inclusion" and "being non judgmental" and "embrace diversity" and things like that.

Or are you all just a bunch of extreme liberal Democrat loving Republican conservative hating gay clones on here?

'Lean' does not make any sense here to any English speaking person.

The word is not 'ligament'. It is 'legitimate'.

I'm a Democratic Socialist, so I guess I'm not part of the pack.

I find it interesting that you refer to "gays" as if you're not one of us.

We love inclusion and diversity, but dislike fake profiles and Republicans talking points.

And, please continue with your self-delusion that most of the people who think Social Security should be done away with wouldn't put a cap in your "gay, 39 year old" ass as soon as they would Obama.

English descends from a language called INDO-EUROPEAN which was spoken about 5000 years ago by nomadic people who lived on the planes of what is Southern Russia. The language was never written down so no-one really knows what it sounds like, but a great many languages trace their origins back to Indo-European. I have a chart I am not able to show you that shows that English was closely related to the Germans, Dutch and Danish.

The first invasion of Mother England, was that of the Romans under Julius Caesar in 55 B.C. The Romans stayed for about 400 years and spoke their own language, Latin. The Celts had no writings. When the Romans had to withdraw after fall of the Roman empire, the Romans left little behind.

Now, Germanic people from what the areas we know today as Holland and Denmark, and Germany began to invade that small Island. They were less tolerant than the Romans and drove the Celts west at the point of the sward. There where three main groups of invaders: Angles, Saxons, and Jutes. All spoke dialects of similar Germanic language. gradually, the island become known as Angla-land and this is where the name England Started, and as you do know from English was to come from Mother England to what become America, and latter the land of Oz; Australia.

    Just saying........

What, I didn't reply the first time so you decide to post again? Your original post - the one to which I was referring in my reply - makes no sense. It's not German, Spanish or proper English; it's simply poorly written garbage.
