Anyone else tired of going to the gym and seeing gay guys cruising in the locker room? It gives us all a bad reputation as creepers. My bf and I rarely take our clothes off in the locker room, we just use our lockers to store shit, and we have still gotten flashed etc. by cruisers. These creepers are around 50% students, 50% older people who (ahem) happen to use the campus gym. Why do gay men allow this behavior and perpetuate it? Don't you see it makes us all look like creepers and sluts?

I get kinda creeped out when I get cruised in the locker room.
I love when a guy is confident and flirty but I love it more when he has a sense of situational propriety.

I like a gentleman in the streets and a convict in the sheets!

i work out with a trainer in a studio to simply circumvent the issue. i'm in a bit of a mood after a lengthy and heated discussion with a non-fit gay who was bent on trying to get me to apologize for being attracted to physically fit men. so i really am not in much of a mood to analyze any further than to say i don't care if we all look like creeps and sluts, since most of us are. embrace it. you'll sound less like a stuffed sausage.

Don't you ever apologize for what you like, DJ. It's not criminal.

Why embrace it? Most of us aren't creeps and sluts.

Jacky, you should have apologised for your attraction to fit men with the back of your hand *nods*

Most gay men won't admit it but we are pretty much wired to take quick glimpses of things we like a nice ass, body and the occasional meat gazing. Heck, I think every man is wired that way to look at such things especially when the opportunity presents itself.

Some make it more obvious then others. All I can say is if you're gonna do it at least have some class about it.

Drawing attention to yourself and the situation by confronting creeps doesn't help. I'd just ignore it. It happens.

Read the comments on that thread about not having sex on the first date. There are lots of guys who still want to form an emotional connection first. There have been dozens of similar threads on that same topic and the majority of the comments always say they don't care for anonymous hookups.

It's not just gay men, it's all men, even straight guys will take a peek at other fellas given the chance.. it's just so discrete and fleeting that you gotta be faster then superman to pick up on it happening.

    do you mean cruising cruising?
    or just glancing ?
very different thing. we all glance.
my gym seems 99% straight but i've seen guys peek at my package when having a shower . All males do it, straight gay.

but if you mean cruising the way you'd do in a sauna, hmm, that's pushing it a bit .
    They must be desperate..haha.

Lol, it's funny how some people are like that non-fit guy you described. If you want a fit guy to be attracted to you, become an attractive fit guy yourself. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. This stuff is pretty much common sense.

With how regularly the topic of cruising in locker rooms and sex in steam rooms and saunas comes up here on RJ, I have to wonder why I have never been to a gym where that seems to happen. Guess guys are pretty conservative in Tampa where I live. Most get in and get out of the locker room as quick as possible. Maybe do a little chit chat but that is all I've ever seen.

It's sort of the same thing. People usually find symmetry attractive. As you get into shape (ie: Gain musclular definition), your face becomes more symmetrical. Hard lines in the male face are generally what constitute whether a guy is "good looking" or not. Sure, there are guys out there that just look ridiculously good as a result of good genes but that doesn't mean guys that weren't born "Adonises" have to just give up.

There's definitely a limit with how "attractive" you can become but there being a limit doesn't mean you shouldn't try at all.
