    I'm not sure what the muscle is under your calf before your ankle, all I can think of is cankle. I DONT HAVE CANKLES! It makes me think of the SNL skit with Hillarys cankle BUT...I don't know how to stretch that muscle or how to loosen it up, I've been putting on a lot of miles bumping up my cardio running. And those muscles have been really sore and tight for the past 2 days (last time I ran). Is there any way to stretch or loosen up that muscle under the calf (above the ankle)?

    If anyone knows that would be great! I don't want to take ibuprofen or tylenol and I have to stand on my feet all the time at both of my jobs so something or anything would be better then nothing. THANKS!!! icon_razz.gif

    Any and all ankle stretching, I would think and anything stretching calves would probably relieve it a bit, but this is all stuff you would have tried already..

    Yeah the only thing I haven't done is trying to ice it...I'm going to get ice from work and try to see if that helps. Would it be better to ice or heat?

    I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but I had something similar in the past called "exercise induced compartment syndrome". Basically, the area between by calves and ankles would cramp up and become painful.

    I had surgery over the summer that was extremely helpful;

    Again, not sure if it's the same thing, but might be worth researching.
