    Hi guys,
I'm organisation the good old annual Eurovision party.
Each year the tradition is that we play the Eurovision equivalent of Chris Kringle .. whereby each person brings a small gift to place under the TV and picks a country from the box. At the end of the night, the person with the winning country takes all the gifts.
What are some other fun games/activities can I add to this lame but fun event?

Wow :-) I've been watching the Eurovision for years, but never heard about that tradition. Interesting :-)

I didn't realize gays in Syndey even watched the Eurovision. It's usually a European affair and in recent years has gone downhill. The contest used to produce real talent, such as Celine Dion who won in the late 80s, but lately it's more of a musical freak show.

At least you guys make it into a social event. Sounds really nice :-)

It is a freak show.. but thats what makes it fun. The more lame it is the more fun it is.. especially when the hosts are REALLY bad!
I play the kringle to win (but secretly in my heart I'm rooting for Israel to win)

We see it the following night here.
We used to get it with the UK commentary. Terry Wogan was the best!

Yes, he's retired from it now, said the voting had become so ridiculous with countries voting for their allies rather than the song. UK will never will as we're not liked, apart from Ireland who always vote for us.

The UK are desperate to win.
They put Andrew Lloyd Webber in it and still lost!

I love Eurovision. It's the best thing on TV, too bad it's only on once a year. And the commentary is half the fun.

I'd love to do a dress up of your favourite previous contestants or do a drinking game but I'd be the only one participating!

My BF is Eurovision mad; he is full of factoids of the type the last backing singer to enter the stage for Moldovia in 1963 was.

our sunday morning lay-in are now youtube fests of 2010 entry reviews and punditry.

We have our own voting criteria, but I like the euro kringle idea. must suggest that for this year.
