I love movies that are fantasy!

So, I was a big fan of the original "Clash of the Titans" from 1981. And, when I heard that a remake was due - I was excited.

I saw it tonight tho not in 3-D.

It was a B+ for me. Maybe in 3-D it would achieve an A.

It is cast quite well...the special effects are quite good. It just seemed to move too fast - maybe that is a good thing...not sure.

Did anyone else see it? Your thoughts?

I really want to see this. Huge fan of the original but not hearing the best things about this remake, like they changed alot of the story and that it feels rushed so Im a bit worried.

Wouldnt go see it in 3D, I dont see the point of 3D movies other than to charge you extra. All the reviews of the 3D said it was pointless and distracting

I think the 3D of today is awesome and I totally would live in 3D if I could. Hey, wait a second....

I actually really liked the movie - apart from wanting to have Sam Worthington's babies - but the 3D was useless...I don't think there was any "real" 3D moments apart from like 3-4 minutes of a 2 hour film.

So go see it in 2D - I usually see movies in 3D so I'm not one of those haters, but this one is useless in the 3rd dimension.

If you're not happy in the third dimension, maybe you'll get all groovy in the fifth dimension?

Yeah, this scene is really good - but again, it moved very very fast (like the whole movie).

And, whoever said, they changed up the story some - you're right, they did. The whole "Calabos" character is different and his relationship w/ Andromeda....kinda odd.

Sam Worthington is very good tho he doesn't speak too much...lol

I was shocked to learn that Ray Fiennes was Hades ... he is very good: ditto Liam Neeson as Zeus.

Again, it was good but not grand - I wanted it to be grand given today's technology and special effects.

hahaha... you just liked his mini skirt. :p

i read they really changed the character of Andromeda.
i like new 3D movies, but i'm suspicious of this remake. Suspect a huge fancy container with a tiny weenie little content.

I read a couple of reviews and all agree the 3-D version was a waste. One of the theaters here moved their first showing date a week out so they could get the 3-D version. Of course it is being compared to Avatar (like apples and oranges). I am going to see the non 3-D version next weekend.

I went in with low expectations because all the critics were talking crap about it. But it ended up being real good. Not perfect. But i was into it the whole time. I saw the 3D version which was alright. Nothing great.
Good movie. Got in a arguement w/ my brother in law though

Perseus and Hercules are two different people but he said that Clash of the Titans was a Hercules story. That he defeated Kraken and Medusa. Anybody got any knowledge of this. They are two different people right?

I can't wait to see it! My cousin said that it was shot with a 2D camera and then they decided afterwards to put it in 3D so it looks really bad in 3D, said they rushed it. Some people I've talked to say the story is crap, but like Progress said I just want to see some kick-ass fight scenes with crazy monsters and shit!

ErikTaurean saidYou are right. They are two different people. Perseus killed Medusa and the Kraken.

Greek mythology that comes down to us often has different versions. The story line in the original Clash of the Titans has Zeus fathering Perseus with the human daughter of King Acrisius of Argos, by use of deception. The King fears for his life, because of a prophecy that says he will die if his daughter has a child, and so orders his daughter Danae and her infant Perseus killed, by setting them adrift in the ocean inside a wooden chest.

Zeus is enraged, and orders the Kraken released to destroy the capital of Argos and its King. But Danae & Perseus survive the sea by order of Zeus, and reach an island. There Perseus grows into young manhood, and begins many adventures as various feuding Olympic gods use him as their pawn.

As for the movie remake, I understand it began as 2D, and those earlier parts converted to 3D by a retroprocess, hence their less-impressive quality than a dedicated 3D movie. I won't be seeing it in theatrical release.

The decision to retrofit Clash for 3D was done at the last minute but the studio when they saw how much money Avatar was making. It wasn't conceived as a 3D movie and I hear the 3D is horrendously bad.

I gotta say that if you want to see good 3D, How to Train Your Dragon uses the tech to great effect. It's very immersive and the flight sequences are pretty amazing. The movie's really good, too. I think gays will appreciate its message (don't prejudge things you know nothing about), too.
