Love is one of those things that we learn more about it by both having it and then not having it. We have tremendous opportunities to grow and to enjoy rich relationships when we have love in our life. We can also learn valuable lessens when love ends.
From my experience the old cliche holds timeless truth: It is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.
To this day, after decades of love found and lost, I continue to "put my heart out on my sleave" despite the fear of hurt and always in hope of love lasting until my dying day.
Do not confine yourself to the 1-on-1 romantic boyfriend/husband love. There are so many other opportunities to build friendships, acquaintances, to fix family wounds, and to just do something wonderful for strangers. All of this can be done with love.
Never fear to love. Never grow so bitter and cynical that you cannot love. This is the one thing that it is best to be like an innocent child. Love freely and love often. Love everybody.
It could be just as simple as giving a hug to a stranger:
Just imagine how much more close knit our cities, towns, and communities could be if we just gave each other some love through a hug.
It could change the world forever.
Aloha and Be Well!
