I also loved her as Carlotta Beck on the comedy show Filthy Rich in the early 80's....I am so sad to hear of her passing, she was an inspiration! icon_sad.gif

So sad. She was someone who could be so funny, yet command such respect on "Designing Woman."

I loved this one and also the one where she was back during the days of World War II and told Adolf Hitler off over the phone.... icon_biggrin.gif

Not the Hitler video, but still funny. I like how her accent really came out when she was angry.

and she could sing also! ya'll recall her doing "how great thou art" at the closing of the souther babtist convention, when charlene walked away from her pastor?

as a former southern babtist choir member, i know how hard this hymm is to do correctly.

Sad news. I always loved her as Julia Sugarbaker. My favorite scene would have to be the episode where she got stuck in the Abbott Banister. Classic.

All the classy TV ladies are just dropping with no one with a similar ounce of talent to replace them icon_sad.gif

One of the best skits as well including her annoying funny sister Suzanne!

I've been living under a rock obviously for the past 15 days. Just found out about Dixie reading People in the supermarket line.

Always loved her rants because I was the same way for years. I've learned to tone it down because people didn't dare disagree with me.

A great talent gone too soon.

A great and very progressive lady from the South.
    I'll defintely miss her.
I feel bad for her husband and the rest of her family.

She took growth hormones religiously for years.
I wonder if the cancer that took her life, grew faster as a result of the growth hormones she took?
    Because she went so quickly.
Taking growth hormone supplements is a dangerous practice.
