I had no idea she was 70 years old. This is sad, I have fond memories of watching Designing Women with my older sisters growing up.

And she was a fan of ours, too.

She was definitely a great actress that I always enjoyed watching her on Designing Women. I loved it when she would get fired up!

Endometrial cancer complications - is the word I got. This often presents in ladies between 60 and 70.

She was a great actress. Who could deliver lines of intense dialog better than she could?

I never really watched much of Designing Women but I do remember the "Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" episode. I think there was another episode about a guy who had hiv. I think the guy was played by Tony Goldwyn (the bad guy from Ghost). She will be missed!! icon_cry.gif

Yes they killed her off in Desperate Housewives. But why are not more Americans like the Southerners?

But we all die sometime, and she lived a long forfilled life, so there is nothing sad about her dying with dignity and not as a frail old women, in a Nursing Home.

Interesting this thread resurrected. I have been watching youtube clips of Designing Woman the last few days.

It really was a great, progressive show that made of my conservative relatives squirm uncomfortably.

I waited in anticipation for the vitrol Julia could utter. Loved it!icon_cool.gif
