Would you get involved in a friend with benefits and/or fuck buddy relationship?

I just don't get it. I can never see myself becoming or desiring to become a friend with benefits or fuck buddy. Would you or have you been part of either of these types of relationships? Why?

I had a fuck buddy for a while. I wasn't really interested in being in a relationship at the time. It started as a hookup, but we had great chemistry in bed, so it led to repeat performances.

Now, the question you may ask is: "Why not date?" Well, primarily because his email signature was "Be bullish!" (He worked for Merrill at the time.) Which was just a sign of the various ways in which we were not compatible (political, music, even restaurants).

The other piece of it was that I had been something of a prude and wanted to experiment and be more adventurous sexually (3somes, sex parties, etc.), and it was great to have a companion to do that with where jealousy, hurt feelings, and weird mixed signals didn't enter into it.

I've never really had a friend with benefits. If I liked you enough to both fuck you and be your friend, why wouldn't we just date? I think FWBs are a way of preventing people from going "all in" on a relationship.

Well, to be fair those are relationships, if not conventional ones. icon_wink.gif

I had a FWB for a few years before starting to date my ex. It was a very caring and respectful friendship, and the sex was great. I would have one again. I would probably prefer that to a LTR at this point.

    Eh. I'm about relationships.

There is one kid I would have a friends with benefits deal with... but it's more because I would hope it would grow into something else.

I have two FWB's...one of 6 years, one of 2.5 years. And I love them both, equally. icon_smile.gif

I started out dating a guy and we ended up as FWB's.. We had both been dating other people and had broken up and ran into each other... grabbed a drink and ended up shaggin each others brains out... in some ways the sex was better. we had feelings for each other but no expectations except to have mind-blowing sex... which is what we did..

I have one FWB. We were friends for years before we first messed around. We messed around during a phase of our relationship when we were both exploring the safe, sane, consensual SM community. We're still very close friends to this day, but we no longer mess around with each other.

It was a positive experience in our case.

Not everybody's experience has a happy ending. No pun intended.

I have a FB right now. As a graduate student, I hardly have time for myself, let alone the time and energy to devote to nurturing a meaningful relationship. But I still have my needs, and having a FB means reliable, quality, no-strings-attached sex.

Man, going to all boy schools all my life, i'v seen things nobody would ever admit 2 now, but boys get very horny and experiment....I'm still in touch with some of my encounters from high school [of course their all married] and occationally someone will bring up our away game encounters in the hotel..
Alot of the curious guys i meet now are guys who know i'm gay but since i'm low key and muscular they somehow feel comfortable approaching me...I meet guys everyday, most of them approach using some pseudo bodybuilding question but the truth is always not far behind....LOL

Yes, I have been part of one. It's not the best type of relationship, but if I can't have a boyfriend, a fuck buddy is good enough. A FB is not better than a boyfriend, but it's much better than nothing.

Are there any guys out there who feel like a peace of meat when you are involved in a FB or FWB relationship?

As sure God and taxes, I invariably find my answers letter for letter the same as Tim's. That's amazing.

I've had FB's where neither of us had anything in common except cosmic bone rattling sex. We were both enjoying each other as a sex toy...and it was hot! Sometimes I find it rather erotic to be treated like a piece of meat. Sometimes my FB's also find it enjoyable for me to treat them like a piece of meat.

I just make sure their "meat memory" is reminiscent of fillet mignon! icon_biggrin.gif

    Aloha and Be Well!
