Smoking Weed

    QUOTE Apr 12, 2010 4:44 AM GMT
Is someone who smokes weed frequently a deal breaker for you? I personally don't have a problem with people who smoke weed, many of my friends do. I am, however, turned off by someone who is stoned every time I see them. I want to interact with someone who is all there. Not sure I could date a stoner.

    What do you think?

Personally, I don't find smoking ANYTHING to be an attractive characteristic that I am willing to be around. I don't think smoking is part of a healthy lifestyle and unless you are under medical orders to smoke pot for some actual treatment of cancer or something.....sorry...not interested...and OH yeah...one little issue is that it is ILLEGAL!...I don't need help getting into trouble, I have always been good enough at that......icon_cool.gif

whats a full-time pothead though?I dont think its that bad if someone smokes a once a day, like a joint after work or something, but if you smoke morning, afternoon, evening, all the time i dont think id handle it more than 2 weeks.
But i defnitely could not be with someone anti-pot

I used to smoke it all day everyday, but recently quit completely. I liked it but it was making me lazy, especially for my workouts which takes priority. Occasional is aight though

Me neither. I'd rather date a closeted guy than an anti-pot guy, and I don't see either happening anytime soon. icon_razz.gif

Pot smoking I can deal with. The problem is that most people I know how smoke regularly do other drugs as well. That's something I refuse to put up with.

Once pot is legal that will be a non-issue.
Currently, the only reason many pot users do other drugs is that pot opens the door to the black market.

You can run for President as long as you don't inhale.

I do have a rather delicious pot cookie recipe.

But anywho, I'm a "come back after a long day and smoke a bowl" type of smoker. It's like my after work beer. It doesn't affect my day to day performance, and just a way to unwind at the end of the day.

On the alternate side, I find pot to actually stimulate me to do something. This afternoon I'll probably longboard along the river until I find a nice spot then sit down and draw. It helps to stimulate my creativity.

And to sporty: I'm not walking about town with ounces of marijuana on me. It sits at my house. While it may be illegal, the chances of me getting caught while in the privacy of my own home are slim.

Being stoned all the time is like someone who is drink all the time. It's somebody who's in pain and doesn't want to deal with clean emotions. It's simply a sign of larger problems.

The weird thing is, if you don't drink for example, you're kind of the odd man out.

Shenanigans. The Gateway Drug Theory has been totally busted.

    Yes, it's a deal breaker.

I'm afraid it is a deal-breaker. I already dealt with my own drug habit almost fourteen years ago, and don't want to deal with someone else's unless they are asking me for help.

Maybe it's because I've never had to buy my own, but I've never felt the urge to try other drugs. Then again, I very rarely smoke pot anyway. icon_lol.gif

Nothing wrong with it. I sure as hell consumed way more than my fair share back in the day....now if they're getting high 5-6 times a day, unless they are ill, then I would be concerned. icon_wink.gif

Isnt weed addictive like smoking, alcoholism, drug, dope and pot? No I dont need to deal with this. One of my ex was an alcoholic, drinking every nite, call me from some club to pick him up, vomitting .....I have enough of those.

A point of note: it's illegal to have sex with someone you aren't married to, in most places, and sodomy remains illegal, to this day, in many states, but, folks do it all the time.

If we're concerned about saving lives, and think we should do it via the legal system, then, the very first thing we should do is to make being a fat ass criminal.

With 75% of all folks in jail on any given day for a pot offense of a non-violent nature, and with 85% of ALL folks in jail on a non-violent, drug offense; with nearly 3 MILLION folks in jail; a police industrial complex that bleeds money at $595,000 a minute on a failed drug policy, we really need to start applying some common sense and looking at policy in more advanced countries in Europe. Clearly, our current policy is getting thousands killed south of the border, bleeds money that could be used for other purposes, ruins the lives of so many, and is a dismal failure, even on a good day, that not even the GAO thinks is a good idea.

Just FYI, I don't smoke pot, or cigs, but, you don't have to be all that smart to figure out our current policy is beyond bad and is only lining the pockets of the folks involved in enforcement and the trade, and nearly 2.5 million folks are injected into the legal system, needlessly, every year, because of it, with HUGE costs to society.
