Our American society has come to a point where "convenience" is actually causing us to fall ill.

We're fatter than ever because our food is terrible and because we spend no physical effort to harvest or prepare it. Our food is processed and terrible-- and even where GOOD food is available, it's not as good as it could be, and it's expensive. We don't move at work, or at home, and in many cases, we've replaced physical games-- "playing outside"-- with electronic gaming systems. Life revolves around electronics. We don't even have to get up to answer the phone anymore. Remember when you had to run to answer the phone? Everything is remotely operated. It's entirely possible to go through a day without moving.

Our bodies can't possibly evolve quickly enough to account for the shift toward sedentary living that has occurred in the past twenty years.

Many of us exercise more or find other ways around it.

What examples can you think of? How has "convenience" actually damaged our well-being as a nation and a world?
