PAstud21 saidNo, they do not want to seperate from the union. My gosh you queers read the article.
If you had half a brain you would know what the definition of a militia is. The term militia (pronounced /miːˈli.ti.a/) is commonly used today to refer to a military force composed of ordinary citizens to provide defense, emergency law enforcement, or paramilitary service, in times of emergency without being paid a regular salary or committed to a fixed term of service.
Now you try reading the article "The militia's purpose would be to defend against what activists see as improper federal infringements on state sovereignty."
now I know you arent that smart but logically if you are going to have a militia, yes that is right a military force, to protect your state from the federal government you have some intention of separating yourself from said federal government. Attacking your government with a military force if as a protectionist measure would be TREASON which is specifically defined in the United States Constitution, the only crime so defined. Article III Section 3 delineates treason as follows:
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.
By raising a military force against the United States Government you would be committing treason. The only reason no confederates were tried for treason was President Jackson pardoned them all as he was leaving office.
