I'm thinking about getting it done. Who has had it done? Did it work? What are the things I should look for when selecting a place? Oh, and if your in NYC, where did you go? Questions, questions...icon_smile.gif

I've done it a couple times and a friend of mine has done it a lot.

it hurts..but not so much you can't tough it out.

it works really well, but you have to go multiple times. The very least you can count on is being hair free for 6 weeks...after several treatments there's A LOT less hair.

I look for a hot dude when selecting a laser hair removal place...then again, I'm shallow like that.

I had my chest and abs done by American Laser Centers. One of the best investments in myself I could have made. I chose ALC because they had a guarantee--if you follow their regimen you would get a two year guarantee wherein you could go back and get the area treated again for free.
As for pain, it feels kinda like someone snapping you with a rubber band...repeatedly. I got red for about an hour then it faded. Also the first few treatments can be kinda gross if you are really hairy--the singed hair has exploded out of the hair folicle and looks like you have blackheads all over. Also you cannot tan while undergoing laser treatments and need to avoid sun exposure to the treated bodypart for about 2 weeks before treatment.
If you are going to have this procedure don't just go to a hair salon or place that offers laser hair removal. Do your research. Lastly, be prepared to pay. My procedures cost over $2,000 but I am still hairfree 3 years later and loving it icon_smile.gif
