So long story short, I don't have cable, but do have Netflix, and have gotten in the habit of watching a lot of TV series(es?). I'm pretty eclectic in my tastes, and am looking for some new things to watch. Here's what I've recently watched:

    Queer as Folk
    Buffy the Vampire Slayer
    Will & Grace
    True Blood
    Planet Earth
    Dexter

    Currently watching: Desperate Housewives

    Up next:
    Oz?
    Lost?
Breaking Bad? (Breaking Bad is definitely on the list, it's just forestalled until Season 1 Disc 1 is available)

Any other suggestions for some quality TV shows?

although mocked and joked about in it's prime; i find that the reruns of "30something" to be a quality show, well written and acted, with plot lines that i can identify with much more now than when the show was on the tube originally.

    ken olin was H O T in the first 2 seasons! icon_cool.gif

If you have a free afternoon squeeze in the first 13 seasons of America's Next Top Model. Time'll fly by I swear!

I have been thinking about getting rid of cable myself. Seems like a lot of money when you do not watch it much.
I love Lost and I agree that 30 something has a lot more appeal now that I am older and can identify with it. I watch a few shows on my computer using hulu.com and a couple of other websites and get my local news on the net too.

And you mentioned Buffy, so if that does not include Angel, that should be number one on your list.

I didn't see 30Rock on that list. You definitely need that one. Hilarious and Smart.

The Spartacus series is good for the eye candy and very homoerotic content.

Better off Ted is a funny series that I recently got into (thanks Hulu/Netflix)

True Blood, American Dad. and definitely Torchwood or Hotel Babylon (BBC shows)

I'm in the same boat though, dont have a TV or cable, but do enjoy my Hulu/Netflix. Yay for Interweb access!

    Have fun!

OZ is only worth watching to see Beecher and Keller's destructive romance. So basically, pick up that series when Chris Meloni joins the cast.

I recoment watching The Comeback. It's only one season, and only 10 or 12 episodes, but Lisa Kudrow has never been better. Sometimes it's funny awkward, but it's always funny.

Other people recommended Weeds, Arrested Development, Better Off Ted, and 30 Rock. I second all of those.

"Weeds," "United States of Tara," and "Nurse Jackie" are three of my all-time favorite shows right now. "Lost" is also great. I'm going to force my boyfriend to sit through all of the seasons soon since he hasn't watched it before.
