I know there have been a few posts in the past though I wanted to bring up Brothers and Sisters especially for those who may have not caught on to the show yet.

Sally Fields is a bona fide Actress. If that women doesn't make me cry every episode, I don't know what. (And for the record I'm a pretty masculine guy lol).

Yes I am a bit biased that there is a very attractive gay couple (Kevin and Scotty) on the show and they are affectionate most times and kiss at least once an episode. So hot and sweet.

Something about character Justin Walker is simply NICE (Aka hot, cute, mysterious). And before you jump on me I don't only watch the show for the attractive cast members, it's a really well written show.

Closing it's on hulu and so great in my opinion.

    What say you?

Scotty looks so much better now. He cleans up well

I watched this show for a season and a half when it first started. Something about it started rubbing me the wrong way. Started to get a little silly, maybe.

Kevin dated Scotty back then, but they broke up a few times. And then he dated Smith Jared from Sex and the City, a closeted soap star. Then he dated Rob Lowe's preacher brother, but he moved to Somalia or something. I didn't know he and Scotty even got back together, but he was my favorite bf.

Did Saul ever come out of the closet?

Yes Saul did come out, but they won't hook the poor bastard up!!!! On the last episode they were all making crazy ass toasts for Kevin birthday, Saul's was "I'm 70 years old and came out of the closet, for all the good it did me I could have stayed in." Translation, I can't find a man!!! LOL

    Absolutely love the show...

Nice to see that a gay couple can kiss, appear in bed together and there's no hoopla, no Ads pulled in retaliation, and to be presented as just that - a regular couple with regular issues and some that are specific to gays and lesbians from past to present... Good for Brother's & Sister's

Mark Cherry failed miserably with his presentations of gays on Desperate Housewives...

I didn't watch the show in the beginning but started because someone I know was a producer and writer on (eventually) a little over 20 episodes so I started to watch and now, even though she's moved on to another show, I love this show.

I did think that the 2nd to last episode where Holly and Nora steal the car was over the top, it's still entertaining. Plus I like the gay issues as fairly realistic rather than presented as shocking or simplistic and superficial.

i hated that show... so overly dramatic and contrived... on a related tangent, can we please stop talking about this show and have more talking about lady gaga? we seriously aren't meeting our thread quota of seventeen threads about her a day.

not a bad show, it would be refreshing though if there were a popular show, cast with talented actors and actresses, that addressed a variety of issues, including gays and lesbians in an honest light, that didn't involve rich people, or celebritys/politicians. why not a well written show about the average family, that is not well heeled? it seems we must dream the dream of affluence...

Like I said before, I hate the show but I'm suckered into watching it because it reminds me too much of my own family. I have 7 brothers and sisters and we drink and fight all the time except the fact that my family have REAL issues and REAL drama that would make their show look like 'Leave it to Beaver'.

This, along with GLEE, is one of my favorite shows on TV. Strangely though, the gay couple are my least favorite characters on the show. "Scotty" and "Kevin" just seem to have little if any chemistry, they never seem to be having any fun, and "Scotty" is just annoyingly clingy and wimpy. Sally Field, in my opinion, makes the show. Every scene she is in is Emmy-worthy. She is as good as it gets.

It has become very close to jumping the shark recently, although we are probable someway behind here in Australia.

Firstly, Kitty and Robert can't have kids, so they get a surrogate mother to have one for them. After all the angst and gnashing of teeth, once the baby is born we hardly see it or hear about it again.

Then Kitty gets cancer, and after all the wailing and emotion, she decides to run for the Senate and suddenly, she is in remission.

Robert had a sextuple heart bypass last year, but now he's fit as a fiddle.

Then Kevin and Scotty decide to have a kid, but they can't, so they get a surrogate (running out of original ideas already?)

Oh, and there's the two illegitimate kids, one who marries her half-brother (only he turns out not to be) and the other who sabotages the winery and then we don't see him again.

Seriously, this is one of those shows where I loved it for the first two seasons, but it now seems to be running out of fresh ideas and therefore, steam.

I love this show I been watching it since season 1. That is still one of my favorite scene of the entire show, I love the song that is placed in the scene as well. It fits perfectly.

Also, the cast is an amazing cast!

Blondizgd saidNo chemistry between the gay couple.

That is a very interesting thing to say, and something I have often wondered about.

Many actors relish the idea of playing a gay character here and there, just to prove their "diversity" and "talent".

An example would be River Phoenix in "My Own Private Idaho", where he nailed the nuances and true emotion of a gay man. Pity that Keanu was the one trying to prove his diversity there.

Some actors are very scared that by playing a gay man, they will be perceived as being gay themselves, and this is why we never get true chemistry between two lesser actors.

Heath Ledger got it right in "Brokeback Mountain", but some may not know that he had already played a young, troubled gay boy in an Aussie television series, long before his rise to stardom in the US.

I feel that Matthew Rhys (Kevin) especially is trying to ensure that he is not typecast as a gay man for the rest of his career, by playing the role as straight as he is allowed.

And I agree with the previous poster that we would love to see Kevin and Scotty actually have some fun together! Please! They only ever seem to be biting their nails about the latest problem or arguing about the latest problem!
