Anyone giving this a thumbs up or thumbs down? I've liked everything else by him, but hadn't heard anything about the new disc yet--
Also--the David Byrne/Fatboy Slim "tribute" to Imelda Marcos??

    It's all true--

The Imelda Marcus tribute is called Here Lies Love and it's a 2 cd monster/"concept" piece--really expensive on iTunes and not at my local library yet--

The new Rufus is "All Days are Nights" -- The title alone is compelling.

I brought the deluxe book version of David Byrne/Fatboy Slim 'Here Lies Love'. I freaking love it!! The music is fantastic but having the book put a whole new dimension to the album. This will be one of my top release for the year. Just amazing.

I listened to the samples of Rufus "All Days are Nights" and I haven't made a decision about it. I completely loved his last album (Release the Stars) as well as Want One/Two. I'll have to listen to the new album samples again.

Rufus is a great musician and a terrible songwriter. His covers are amazing, but I very rarely like his originals.

I downloaded the David Byrne/Fatboy Slim collaboration and can't stop listening to it! The music and lyrics are great, plus I love all of the guest vocalists.

Ok! I'm gonna plunk down my sheckels (but not going the Treader "Deluxe Book" route)---Any other recommendations? Gotta long road trip tomorrow--

Rufus is very gifted. But you need to be pretty buzzed to sit through an entire performance by him.

A quote from his Details interview this month-

"And I love, love 50 Cent. I think he's just the sexiest, and a brilliant writer. And I know he's gay....That cute little voice of his. It's okay, 50 Cent. Feel free to call me anytime. My boyfriend and I are experts. You can come over for dinner. And maybe dessert."
