Who Likes Cuddling With Their Guy?

My partner and I used to cuddle in the mornings all the time. This was early in our relationship when we would spend the night together while still maintaining separate residences. Even after we moved in to a condo together, we tended to cuddle in the mornings a lot. Sometimes it led to sex (a lot of teh time :lolicon_smile.gif and sometimes not.

Then we bought a house, and with a bigger residence to maintain, a yard to keep up, heavier workloads etc., it seems like the alarm clock goes off and we jump out of bed and get started with our day.

This morning though, we spent about an hour just cuddling and kissing a little here and there in that kind of half asleep/half awake state when you wake up slowly without an annoying alarm clock going off. We both talked about how we missed spending time like that, just holding each other in the morning and sort of snoozing together. It didn't lead to sex this morning, but I loved it and realized how much I missed just spending some time cuddling with my guy. Gonna have to make a point to do it more often, especially on the weekends.

Just curious whether other guys in long term relationships still cuddle regularly.

Not all night though. See the Friends episode on the roll-and-release technique. icon_wink.gif

it is worth making time for IMO - I forgot how much I liked it until this morning.

LOL. I agree - I can't sleep well without some space to myself. It is in the morning that I love to cuddle.

Yeah, when just wakin up and still half asleep is the best time - getting to wake up in each others arms. icon_smile.gif

Damn you!!!! Woke up, outrageously lonely, and rolled over to check email....and then surf RJ, well actually to check out something VERY specific on RJ whom I'd FAR prefer over the laptop, and now I'm just staring at my screen and pulling my pillow in closer. (If that bag of goose-down could talk, I'm sure it would file charges.....icon_redface.gif) Then a very loving cold nose brought me a stuffed squirrel and a plaintiff look signaling an immediate need for four-legged bladder relief. My 'heartbeat at my feet' is my innocent snuggle bud these days, but rarely as he's a hold and release sleeper. Tolerates a hug and then needs to be legs to Jesus on his back in his chair all night. Leaving me once again with imaginary mate in a sham.

If I could crawl back in bed and be anything but alone, man....the things I'd be willing to be late for.

Like all things in relationships, you have to work at it, and you have to tend it. So glad you got your cuddle back, OP. Easy to let this stuff slip away, and if you don't grab it back before it's out of reach...well, just don't let it slip away.

Aww, some day some lucky guy is going to toss that pillow in the trash!

You're right about working at relationships. It is easy to take what you have for granted. I'm trying to make sure I don't.

We cuddle a lot, especially when watching TV in bed. Actually I tend to cuddle while he watches, and then I fall asleep.

And we like to hold hands while watching TV, or while driving the car. Physical contact with your partner/BF/lover is essential, in my opinion.

Am I the only guy who hates the word "cuddle"? It's such a girly word! Same thing for "snuggle". All I can think of is that stupid little fabric softener bear. I like "spooning" as an alternative, thought it describes a more specific act. Am I alone in my dislike for the word "cuddle"?

Hmmm. Well, Coach, as your profile says "My goal in life is to be a Renaissance Man, I really want to be a well rounded person with a wide variety of interests. I wan to be a guy who is equally comfortable at a ball game as I am at the opera", here's well-rounded Renaissance lesson one, make peace with cuddle. In Italian it's "abbraccio", and in Spanish it's "abrazo", in Russian it's "объятие", and in German it's "Liebkosung"

I'm pretty sure some big non-girlie dudes in all those cultures are using it freely as we speak, and the hot non-girlie men in their arms are more than happy to be doing it!

I know, I know. Being held is a great, great thing. It creates a feeling of being safe, loved and sexy. But there's just something about that word though...

Action speaks louder than words....I love to cuddle and be cuddled. It conveys a profound message of: "You are safe in my arms". "I'll protect you despite atrocities in life". I could reminisce the days when I asked my partner, "Ambraza mi mucho mi cielo". and I further added, in my language "Yakapin kita sa buong magdamag." which means "I will hold you all night long."

*sighs*, just being romantic today. It's gloomy here in Ohio and just missing it...lol.
