I don't know anyone other than my mother and my grandmother who has this issue but it just gets worse with age. My grandmother's twitches have turned into leg cramps (she's in her 90's).
The problem is that when I get tired my leg starts to ache and I have to twitch or stand up to mellow the feeling. The more tired I get then the more the ache turns into pain and only going to bed finally stops it.

Does anyone else have this problem?

My mother recently shared with me a "solution". I followed her advice and put a bar of soap between my fitted sheet and the mattress so I sleep with the soap around my knees. I'm not a fan of holistic medicine but let met tell you that this works.

OK, for those who think I'm crazy and have this problem, try it, it doesn't cost more than a couple bucks and worked within two days.

I've been two weeks without major twitches but still feel the need to move my leg when I'm physically tired. I'm sure this is just habit by now.

    Let me know your thoughts.

yeah I used to have that problem, I developed a good stretching routine that really helped, although I haven't followed it in a few months my legs still haven't gotten restless or twitchy

Speak with a trainer at your gym. Or talk to your doctor about the possibility of seeing a rehabilitation specialist. They'll help you develop a stretching routine that suites you, and helps with the leg issue.

    G'luck

Is it switching or twitching? They have a prescription for the twitching. I have a friend that takes the drug and it works for him. You might go blind or become psychotic and try to kill your friends and family on it but at least the twitching stops.

I have had a twitching problem in the past and I took Hylands Restless Leg pills. You can buy them over the counter at any drug store. One day I was at the gym working out with a personal trainer and my leg started twitching. she took me off the machine I was on and showed me how to do some lower body stretching exercises. She said to do them daily. That was 2 years ago and I do them every day and I have not twitched since.

No, not arthritis, just an ache that builds behind the knee. I end up twitching just for temporary relief (very temporary depending on how tired I am) until I finally settle down to sleep.

Damn typos - changed the title.
