The Discovery Channel has been mulling over having a show hosted by none other that Sara Palin
    called Sara Palin's Alaska
While she did actually live there and was Governor there for a short period of time
I wouldn't exactly say that her views are very environmentally friendly
unless you don't like wolves to the point of shooting them from a helicopter or call for offshore drilling in areas that have already been shown to be highly fragile to oil spills

    What were you thinking Discovery????
With such a disastrous environmental track record, how could Sarah Palin get a nature show on an eco-conscious media platform like Discovery? The answer may lie in Discovery's COO, Peter Liguori, who joined Discovery in December after a previous stint at Palin's other TV home: Fox Broadcast Co.

The advance word is that the show is laugh out loud bad and may not make it to air.

PAJohn saidThat woman is as stupid as dog shit and about as appealing as dog shit too.

Then she'll be a natural draw for Republicans and Teabaggers, a ready-made audience for her. No, this will be aired. There are political forces that will make it happen, the normal rules of broadcasting being overridden.

The goal is to get Palin on the TV as often as possible. The Discovery Channel COO, formerly with FOX, will make that happen no matter what. It will be interesting to see if advertisers will bolt, already being talked about.

But a non-issue, I think. Traditional advertisers for Discovery may bail, but big-money Republicans will find replacements. Trust me, Sarah won't be left twisting in the wind. Republicans will build her up at all costs, she is their Great White Hope. You betcha!

Oh I think I have just fallen in love.... Thank you for those wonderful words! icon_lol.gif
Although she is the last person I would trust with the safety of our country and economy, it might be interesting to hear what she says about the state of Alaska.

Uh, I have a life... And I indeed did say that it would be interesting to hear what she says about Alaska even though I don't think much of her as a politician.

People like you and Southbeach up there need to get off your defensive position and just let the haters hate. Unless, of course, you don't have a life and have nothing better to do with your day than come on RJ and defend her.

i agree with you Adam, i would proly watch the show to see her take on Alaska, as a politician she has not done much and most of her life is about her struggles as a mother and the such, to me she is more of a "celebrity" then she is a politician, but thats just my take on the issue.

Personally i would not call Expressing ones opinion "hate", so what, must of us disagree and most of us do not see Sara Palin as a Politician, does not mean there is hate, just means there is a difference of opinions to which every single one of us is entitled to.

if you care to disagree with me, thats cool, i could care less, however, coming and saying that we should stop "bitching and get a life" seems a little too stupid when people are coming here to criticize and bitch others for having different points of view.

US politics has never been for the faint-hearted. Even Jefferson and Adams insulted each other personally, political attacks on Andrew Jackson were incredibly vicious, Lincoln was portrayed in newspapers as a baboon, etc.

Sarah Palin presented herself as qualified to be a US Vice-President, and continues to encourage speculation about a run for the Presidency, despite her having a very unimpressive skill set for any public office. She is fair game because she puts herself in the public eye while being comically unqualified, more a mascot for the radical Right than a true leader or political thinker.

As for the Discovery Channel, this is clearly a ploy to maintain her public profile before the American people, to confuse what she really would do environmentally if ever given the chance again, and a ratings-gimmick gamble by DC. The fact that their new COO who's pushing this show came over from FOX recently should tell us something.

At least if the show flops it might drag down both of them together, not a bad thing at all. And discourage anyone else from trying something like this again.

With Sarah Palin being an "authority" on environmental issues, I don't feel so bad about considering a Hummer for my next vehicle. icon_wink.gif
