Why do you keep posting all these gay/lesbian/transgendered attack stories on here. You seem to have an odd obsession

I think it's good to be informed about the latest news?

No, it is... but what metta8 likes to do is drop a bit of chum in the water and watch the sharks kill each other trying to devour it. You'll notice that he never posts a opinion on any of these tidbits of news that he brings to us... just lets us do all the inputing and bickering. This is not trolling, perhaps, but it is instigating.

Now as for the story, I find it just heartbreaking and I hope I never have to see it happen on campus here where I work.

This story sounds a bit fishy at any rate. Sounds like this person was targeted (being asked their name) and not as a hate crime.

Shim may have owed money, drugs, an ex, or something and was given a warning.

It's an assumption that this attack was due to the fact that the victim is transgendered.

How is it important? What is going to be accomplished by posting these "news" stories on realjock.com lol. Should I sympathise more for a gay or transgendered victim than a straight one? Also the guy posting them just posts the link and thats it! No opinion or anything. Its slightly strange and sneaky.

Perhaps, as you're used to news being suppressed in China, you find the posting of information unnecessary. Metta posts the kind of news not reported on in the mainstream media and it's important for the gay population to be aware of the daily mistreatment it's handed. If you don't like these posts, why do you rush in to read them? Even moreso, why do you comment? Things slow in China?

To be super honest, these articles keep awareness about our T folk in the LGBTQ acronym. Often ignored all the time, plus these depressing articles give me lots of reference material when people argue in classrooms about how LBGTQ people aren't getting hurt anymore and therefore, anti-hate acts shouldn't be passed...I can throw articles like this in their faces.

But was this a hate crime? The article does not mention a single thing about hate.

The person being transgendered was of no importance in relation to why the attack occured.

In Lakeland, FL today, a father killed his daughter's girlfriend because he blamed her for leading his daughter down the wrong path to lesbianism. Bet we don't hear that one on the news.

Because the forum says "All Things Gay," and he wants to remind everyone that this shit still happens.

metta8 actually has more relevant topics although he sorta just posts links like an automatic news feed. But it's open for discussion and usually entertaining.

While you caution people not to assume this was a hate crime, don't be so quick to jump the gun that it wasn't. Hate crimes happen in the US everyday.

Oh I know they do, and if it comes out that it was a hate crime then make it known.

But dealing strictly with what is in the article, you can't get worked up about this being a hate crime.

The only words the attacker spoke was to ask to confirm the victims name.
