Does the mis-use of RJ annoy you?

When I signed up for RJ, I did so because I wanted to work on my body and get advice etc on how best to do it while also enjoying peoples opinions and stuff on the forums. Now, I realise I'm a faceless profile, but do people who joined RJ for similar reasons find it annoying that guys have started joining with no interest in fitness whatsoever they're just looking for hook ups with hot guys? I know it bothers me and I don't even have that much say on here as a "faceless troll" on a free membership.

    anyone else agree with me?

I joined for the same reasons as you, it doesn't bother me why other guys have joined though, they can use RJ however they wish as it doesn't affect me.

Selective use of the forum topics can greatly help to limit your exposure to unwanted hook-up chat. Though frankly I find RJ has less of that than many gay sites, and it would take constant 24/7 policing by the Owners to remove it.

If you strictly want gay fitness, health, sports and related topics, then just check those forums. And BTW, we did have paid memberships until recently, in addition to the free, but that has been eliminated. It really didn't make any difference regarding the few cases of hook-up posts, unless we went to a 100% pay site. And then it might only reduce that traffic, but not prevent it totally.

To my online experience, RJ is much tamer than most gay sites, and I don't think you'll do much better elsewhere. I see very little hook-up crap, and what there is I simply avoid.

It depends on what ad is being viewed.

On other sites Realjock ads come up this way:

    Meet Gay Men Near You
    Personals, Chat, Forums & More
Search Over 200,000 Pics & Profiles
    www.realjock.com/

    or

    Chat with Great Gay Men
Search Over 200,000 Pics & Profiles
Free Personals, Chat, Forums & More
    www.realjock.com/

....and on some sites the ads appear this way:

    Meet Gay Men Near You
    Workouts, Personals, Forums & Chat
Join Our 100% Free Gay Fitness Site
    www.realjock.com

So really there isn't misuse happening. Admin also brought in adult chat, so we'd expect that would be a draw for many men.

I've always been the skinny unathletic nerd, and then as I got older life hit full force and then I ended up being the short fat guy. I joined RJ because I'm finally at that point in my life where I want to be healthy and fit.

I'm never going to be the hot buff stud on everyone's hot list, and that doesn't bother me in the least. I'm here for workout tips and to chat with other guys with similar interests.

If some are here solely for hookups that's fine with me. I'm not into random hookups anyway.

Not really, everyone's on here for different reasons. Some posts are spam though. I joined for the conversations in the forum, usually only 5 or so topics, I don't look at any other part of the site.

Nope, it doesn't annoy me at all.
Saying "no" (or just not replying) is very easy. icon_biggrin.gif

Dont think you have to be "hot" per say thats too subjective a term but yeah You should have to be fit bc otherwise it defeats the purpose of this site. No offence to anyone, but I didnt join this site to meet any opinionated fat people , I see plenty of them on a daily basis. Id rather talk to other fit, healthy guys. Theres plenty of other sites that anyone can join though. But for now I just tune them out. I don't mean to sound like a total jackass though bc some of them are really smart good people who have a lot to offer, maybe just on another site though

What about guys who aren't in shape but are seriously looking for advice and workout plans to help them get into shape?

I think they have every right to be here

It's "GAY FITNESS HEALTH AND LIFE"

Profiles have information and options for hooking up, so that is part of the intent of the site, built into its design. So no, people who are using this site for hooking up with like-minded guys into taking care of their bodies are not misusing the site.

Maybe I'm just not used to it, but I feel flattered when guys want to hook up with me.

The thing that attacked one to RJ, is the fact it's not a site set for homosexual, and bisexual men to just hook up, as most others are. I have no interest in such things, and have never done such a thing either, as in hook up with a guy I met on the net.

But RJ does have functions to promote you are here for such things, so it's not misuse.
