Ok, so I just finished a 12 hour shift in the ER and had an all new "Ick" moment...

A reasonably attractive young lady came in with a pretty bad discharge, turned out to be an STD. Did the usual, treated her with antibiotics. As she's leaving she asks, "Should I stay home from work?"

Me: "Well, if you feel ok, then you can work. What kind of work do you do?"

Her: "I'm a dancer at an adult club...you know, a pole dancer"

Me: " Um...yeah, maybe a few days off til this clears up"

I don't see what's so icky about it. And the fact that you think it's icky just because she's a pole dancer tells me you don't treat many pole dancers with STD's, which implies they're generally safer.

So, what makes it icky? The fact that she had an STD? Or are you just biased against those who work in the adult entertainment industry?

Read the OP again: "...young lady came in with a pretty bad discharge." [Emphasis added] The source of the discharge is immaterial, STD or not. Pole dancers wear the briefest of thongs (if that, depending on the locale). As Tanker so delicately noted: "...she might accidentally lubricate the pole."

Yeah, second the the Ew Eww Eww ICK!!! icon_razz.gif

I've obviously been around way too much shit. I don't even see it as "eww" - I just see it as "well, looks like she'll be taking some time off from work." icon_lol.gif
