So I recently saw this commercial on tv and couldn't help but wonder,
    Subway+breakfast? Wtf were they thinking?
Generally speaking, I don't have a problem with Subway, but this is just a travesty. I can't help wondering if anyone dared to try it? I'll try not to think less of you.

Subway needs to bring back the stamp program. I'm still upset about it 4 years later.

Mr. Sub is a better chain anyway.

The breakfast is alright, you feel kinda full after it.Normally in other fast foods its just some tiny lil sandwich or english muffins.

Now, Subway has a card, similar to a credit card, that gets swiped every time you buy something. After so many purchases, you win free food.

    I like Subway.
I'll have to check out what they offer for breakfast.

Subway is just as fattening as every other fast-food joint out there, so order with caution, and watch the mayonnaise.

Subway certainly is not as fattening as fast food places like McDonalds, Burger King, etc., depending on what you order.

I regularly get a turkey sandwich, with no mayo or other sauces, and lots of veggies. How fattening is that ?

I got a coupon for a free breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee.
Now, I can't imagine that they would serve anything very healthy on their breakfast menu.

Agreed. You can have a feast at Subway and not do too much damage. Just stick to the subs under 6 g of fat and stay away from the cheese and mayo and fatty dressings. There's a 24-hour Subway in the lobby of my building and it's a God-send after a night at the bar.

As for breakfast, it's actually not bad. It's one of those things that I don't do as much as I should given how much I enjoy it. Kind of like eating at Boston Market. And they offer egg whites too so you can end up coming out healthy there too. It's not a great breakfast but definitely should be able to hang with the likes of fast food breakfast.

Considering Subway is less unhealthy than a shitty array of fast-food restaurants, this is actually a good thing. What's going on in your brain where you think this is a bad thing?

I didn't know Subway had coupons. For $5 I get a foot long with Chicken and nearly every veggie they have to offer. This 12" foot long is good enough for two meals. I'm happy paying $2.50 per meal. icon_smile.gif
I do agree that $5 for a foot long is a good deal. The only thing I usually wind up still ordering the 6 inch. The second sub doesn't taste nearly as fresh the next day. Oh yeah...I keep getting the coupons too but since they usually require you to buy two foot longs to get a 3rd free, I never use them.

On the more general issue of health, America will not get any healthier until these massively financially supported advertisements geared toward consumer peripheral cues are suddenly shifted towards the premise of human health being the #1 important issue, not necessarily profit. Right now these commercials are only desguising themselves as healthy when they're just jumping on the broken down "go green" bandwagon without putting thought into it.

Can't wait until one day someone with a lot of money will make a series of genius commercials that are offensive, hilarious, professional, and successfully achieve their goals of getting consumers to consciously think about and regulate their own eating habits and health in general.

Ugh im sorry are these sentences long winded?

I just got a coupon/card for a free breakfast sandwich and a cup of coffee on May 11.
There will probably be a line around the block.
But, I'm going to go and check it out.
    Who knows ?
    Maybe I'll find true love.
    LOL.

I like Subway, but it seems like all the ones in the LA area skimp out on the cold cuts. They give you 3 - 4 measly slices of meat and then shove a fistful of vegetables in there to make it look big. Not worth $5. If I wanted a "veggie" sandwich, I'd get some bahn mi for $1 each.

As for breakfast, I tend to like McDonald's sausage McMuffin. Calories aren't too bad; About 400 - 500 calories each. The average plain bagel has around 300 calories, without cream cheese.

I've been eating the subway breakfasts since they started (which is also the same time bf and I joined a gym) I'm losing weight and feeling better - of course anything that replaced my McDonalds diet was going to be better for me.

But all summer long I've been ordering chicken breast with the egg as a breakfast/lunch alternative and some store didn't know how to ring me up but slowly the figured out how to charge me for the egg. But now some stores are still doing it for me and some subway's are refusing me service.

Anyone else having problems with Subway?
