Bruised / Strained Achilles Tendon - HELP!

    Hey Guys,

    I bruised / strained my right achilles tendon approx 2 weeks ago. Initially I thought I did it on the tennis court but have concluded with my GP that it was doing crunches on the tallest medicine ball since the smaller ones were all being used. I didn't think that the extra height would make such a difference but it did. The best news is that after an ultrasound and an MRI, there was no clot and nothing was torm.

    So once I can walk again without hobbling, my question any of you out there know of some exercises to strengthen up the achilles tendon? This is the 2nd injury in the past 4 years and it's not the most pleasant thing to go through. It's getting better each day with rest and keeping the foot elevated but am going crazy not getting out and play.

    I strained both of my achilles tendons a year ago doing jumprope barefoot for like an hour. pretty dumb. It took like 3 months to heal. anyway calf raises definitely strengthen them, but wait a couple months or you might just strain them again. They helped me anyway

    Glad you're healed now - yes, the healing time is crazy. Thanks for the tips on the calf - makes sense but won't do anything nuts to hurt it in the meantime.
